TALK OF THE TOWN: Jeremy Paxman makes a tidy £500,000 profit on his Notting Hill love nest

When Jeremy Paxman split up from the mother of his three children and later embarked on a relationship with Canadian Jillian Taylor, 29 years his junior, the couple lived at his Notting Hill flat.

Now Paxo has sold the love nest for £1million, making a £500,000 profit.

Last year he took aim at one for using a leaf blower, writing: ‘It is characteristic of our age that gardening, which used to be the most peaceful of occupations, is now an excuse for any fool with a chainsaw, hedge-trimmer, pneumatic drill, motor-mower, strimmer or leaf-blower to wreck everyone else’s peace.’

Still, I’m sure that tidy profit will help cheer him up!

Rishi Sunak’s two young daughters may love playing with the PM’s rescue dog Dilyn at Downing Street, but I fear their hopes of getting their own pet have been dashed.

Says a source: ‘The girls have been begging their father to get a dog, but alas there seems to be a chink in Rishi’s ultra-charming persona – he’s told friends he’s not an ‘animal person’.’
