Exclusive for Mail on Sunday readers: Sail around the British Isles with TV star Liz Bonnin

If you’re keen to start planning your next adventure to put 2020 in the rear-view mirror, look no further than taking a trip on Tradewind Voyages’ Golden Horizon, the world’s largest square-rigged sailing ship.

On this unique 15-night voyage, you will find all the comforts of a luxury sailing vessel combined with the romance of a classic maritime experience – and you will be joined by the science, natural history and environmental broadcaster Liz Bonnin.

During your amazing itinerary, you will take in Belfast, the Giant’s Causeway and dramatic Antrim Coast, Liverpool and then the Isle of Man, where you can board a vintage train to the top of Snaefell.

You’ll explore sights including St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall (pictured above)

Next stop is Dublin, where you can see Malahide Castle and Dublin Bay, or take a walking tour of the city.

Then it’s on to Rosslare and Baltimore, County Cork, with trips to Whiddy Island, Cape Clear or the spectacular Mizen Head, before reaching the wonderful Isles of Scilly.

There Liz will give a talk entitled The Problem With Plastics and take part in a question-and-answer session on board, as well as join you on a magical boat trip around the Scillies’ Eastern Islands. Here you will explore the flora and fauna of these unspoilt gems before enjoying a wonderful wildlife cruise.

You will be joined by Liz Bonnin

After studying biochemistry at Trinity College, Dublin, Liz Bonnin completed a Masters in wild animal biology with the Royal Veterinary College and Zoological Society of London. She has since presented more than 40 television shows including Blue Planet Live, Super Smart Animals, Galapagos and Horizon. With her recent landmark BBC1 documentary Drowning In Plastic, she added hard-hitting environmental reporting to her resumé as she investigated the ocean plastic crisis and raised the level of public debate on this important topic.

Liz will sail with you on to Falmouth, where St Ives, Cornish beaches, cream teas and St Michael’s Mount beckon, before finally visiting the glorious Channel Islands for wartime heritage and birdwatching on Jersey, wildflower walks on Guernsey or a boat trip to tiny Herm island, where there are no crowds, no cars and no hassle – sure to appeal after such a tumultuous year.
