I’m A Celebrity UK 2020: Hollie Arnold is drenched in PINK SLIME during Castle Coin Challenge

Victoria Derbyshire and Hollie Arnold were drenched in pink goo, as they read fairy tales to each other during the Castle Coin Challenge on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Outta here.

On Thursday’s episode, the broadcast journalist, 52, and the Paralympian, 26, ventured into the fairy tale garden on the Gwrych Castle grounds.

Once they arrived, they realised that one of them would sit in a leather chair and take up the position of storyteller as they tried to earn tasty treats for their camp.

Yikes! Victoria Derbyshire and Hollie Arnold were drenched in ghastly pink goo and feathers as they read fairy tales to each other during the Castle Coin Challenge on I’m A Celebrity

Victoria read a fairy tale from an archaic book, while Hollie deciphered the missing word and then located the corresponding word item hidden around the enchanted forest.

The athlete then put the item into a treasure chest and if their answer was correct, the box would light up.

However a wrong item resulted in the storyteller being covered in horrid fluids such as green slime, pink goo, and feathers or powder.

Victoria and Hollie both had a try at being the fairy tale reader and the explorer.

After completing the challenge, the I’m A Celeb duo headed over to Kiosk Cledwyn where they had a choice of jelly beans or gingerbread men for their valiant efforts.

Doubting whether some of their fellow campers would like ginger, Victoria and Hollie opted for jelly beans which they thought would go down a treat.

Back at camp, Jordan North answered the phone from Kiosk Cledwyn as they asked him what percentage of parents admitted to having a favourite child, either 10% or 18%.

The campmates opted for the former and were elated to discover that 10% was the correct answer.

Victoria and Hollie’s I’m A Celeb comrades cheered for them as they returned back to camp with a collection of delicious jelly beans.

Also on Thursday’s episode, Victoria admitted she made an embarrassing blunder when presenting her BBC Two news show back in June 2019, accidentally saying Jeremy Hunt’s surname was C***.

The journalist spoke about the ‘awful’ incident during a chat with her campmates about their worst days, adding that the experience was ‘excruciating’.

Victoria said: ‘I mispronounced his name, it was excruciating, it was awful, I buried my head in my hands.’

Although Victoria wasn’t amused after making the mistake, the other celebrities in the Welsh camp seemed to enjoy the tale and laughed as she told the story.

Talking in the Telegraph, Giovanna Fletcher said: ‘It’s quite comforting knowing whoever you are or whatever you do, we all have those days where it’s just not going your way.’

The journalist’s gaffe happened on her weekday news and current affairs programme during a four-way debate over who should be the next Tory leader in June 2019.

Victoria said at the time that she was especially embarrassed because it was usually men who made the mistake.

Addressing Conservative MP Steve Brine, she said: ‘You say the man you are backing, Jeremy C*** … I’m so sorry, Jeremy Hunt.

‘I’ve never said that before in my life. It’s normally men who say that so I really, really want to apologise.’
