Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker and his wife Sophie Lawrence have announced they’re expecting their first child together.

The musician’s wife shared the exciting news to Instagram on Thursday, alongside photos of her burgeoning baby bump.

‘Coming jan ’21,’ she captioned the post, revealing when the baby is due.

In one photo, Sophie cradled her growing bump while the Tame Impala star placed his head on her shoulder.

In another picture, the couple smiled at one another while gently touching Sophie’s stomach.

Kevin and Sophie tied the knot in a top-secret ceremony in February last year.

The couple exchanged vows in front of 175 guests at an idyllic vineyard in Western Australia.

Photos uploaded by guests on the day showed the couple looking emotional as they stood at the altar, with the lush Wildwood Valley in the background.

The reception also appeared to be a wild affair, with a midnight delivery of 150 McDonald’s cheeseburgers and a near-dawn finish.

The announcement comes after Tame Impala won five awards at the ARIA awards on Wednesday night.

The project, which is led by producer and songwriter Kevin, won Album of the Year,  and Best Rock Album for The Slow Rush.

Tame Impala also picked up Producer of the Year, Engineer Of The Year and the Best Group award.

Kevin said: ‘Rock and roll is a crazy thing in 2020. It’s an interesting beast, but there’s so much amazing rock and roll music being made in Australia right now.’
