His wife wrote on Instagram on the day: ‘To say I am proud of him would be an understatement.’

The TV presenter also shared a photo of the certificate he received, writing: ‘I received my Order of Australia this afternoon. I was so proud to stand on Gadigal land and represent the Arts in a small way.’

‘It was humbling to share the afternoon with members of the RFS, great community leaders and the one and only @timminchin,’ David added.
