‘He’s 100% not gay!’ AJ Pritchard’s girlfriend Abbie Quinnen insists ballroom pro beau is straight

AJ Pritchard famously declared that he’d rather not label his sexuality last year when chatting to Gay Times.

But his girlfriend Abbie Quinnen has declared that her ballroom dancer boyfriend is ‘100 percent not gay’.

Chatting to The Sun while AJ, 26, takes part on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! currently, Abbie, 23, said: ‘I am 100 percent positive that AJ is not gay. But he doesn’t like to put labels on anything.

‘He has said “love is love” because he really does believe that “love is love”. And it doesn’t matter who you love, whether that be a girl or a boy.

‘We have so many friends who are gay and we literally support them so much. I am absolutely all for it. I am most definitely straight but I do believe that love is love.’

When AJ spoke to Gay Times in 2019, he said: ‘You never know how times will change in where you are in your life. But it is always about being happy and being true to yourself.

‘Like always following your heart – obviously listen to your brain – but really just at that time in your life. It is mad that everything always has to have a label, whether it be the clothes by designers or whether you are in a relationship.

No labels: 'He has said "love is love" because he really does believe that "love is love". And it doesn’t matter who you love, whether that be a girl or a boy,' Abbie added

‘Everybody always wants to have that label when it is not always necessary. At that time of your life, whatever you are, or wherever you are, things always change.

‘You can’t ever say never, because you don’t know what is around the corner. As long as you’re happy, that is the main thing.’

Abbie hit the headlines this week after revealing she was targeted by crazed fans of her boyfriend when she first started dating him, with death threats pouring in.

And in another drama, she was hacked on Instagram this weekend. Abbie was left unable to access the account. Her photos vanished and her page became ‘private’.

Boyfriend AJ’s account posted a note to stories pleading for help – likely shared by AJ’s family, as he is currently taking part in I’m A Celebrity.

Abbie’s account was eventually reinstated on Monday, with her posting a note to her 37.2k followers to update them.

‘I managed to get my Instagram back!’ she typed. ‘Thank you so much to the people who tried to help me and the people who was worried [sic].

‘Honestly can’t thank you guys enough, you guys are the absolute best!’

She also revealed that the hacker blocked her followers, and promised to undo the damage caused.

This comes after Abbie told The Sun that a crazed fan of AJ’s advertised for a hitman on the dark web, offering £20,000 to have her killed while she was starring alongside the ex-Strictly pro in panto.

Abbie was also part of AJ’s dance tour AJ Live, claiming the hitman had also been given a list of dates and venues in order to hunt her down and murder her at one of the shows.

While she claims death threats started pouring in when she first struck up a romance with AJ, 26, 18 months ago, she branded this ‘the scariest thing that has ever happened’ to her.

‘I didn’t know what to do,’ she said. ‘I told AJ. He was like, “I can’t believe this is happening!”. My heart literally dropped and I remember my legs were shaking.

‘You honestly see this stuff on movies and you never would expect it to happen to you. We went to the police. My family were shocked too. I did play it down to them slightly as I didn’t want them to come running to where I was.’

According to Abbie, the police never found who this person was, but advised her and the venues she was performing at to be aware of the matter.

‘It was a crazy time, but I am very grateful we did put in that extra protection,’ she added.

Abbie claims a friend had told her this was going on, having accessed the dark web – a corner of the internet used by scammers, hackers, terrorists and illegal pornographers.

Abbie revealed that the friend learnt of the £20,000 bounty on her head and informed her while she was appearing in Peter Pan in Dunstable last Christmas.

MailOnline has approached AJ and Abbie’s reps for comment.

She claims it’s not unusual to be told to ‘die’ in comments on social media, made by obsessive fans of the ex-Strictly star.

Speaking to AJ and his brother Curtis on their podcast – recorded prior to AJ’s debut on I’m A Celeb – Abbie said: ‘I’ve had a few comments on my pictures where people write, “Die”, “I hate you”, and “Why are you still here?”

‘Honestly, it’s the worst thing as I actually do read them, which is bad as AJ tells me not to.

‘You can’t believe there is someone at the end of their phone or laptop writing that. It does get to me and this is the first time I am actually speaking about it.’
