Man, 40, is charged with the death of a two-year-old boy who was found seriously injured in an Edinburgh flat

A man has been charged in connection with the death of a two-year-old boy in Edinburgh.

The toddler was found seriously injured by emergency services at a flat in Muirhouse on Saturday.

The boy has been named locally as Julius Czapla, the Daily Record reports.

Emergency services were called at around 9.30am. The youngster tragically died at the scene shortly after.

Police have not revealed any further information about how the boy died.

Detective chief inspector Lynn McFall said: ‘I’d like to thank the local people in the Muirhouse community for their help during this inquiry.

‘This was an isolated incident.’
