Jersey Shore: Family Vacation: Angelina Pivarnick remains fired up over disastrous wedding speech

Angelina Pivarnick’s disastrous wedding once again took center stage on Thursday’s two-episode season premiere of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

The 34-year-old bride spent nine months warring with Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley, 34, Deena Cortese, 33, and Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, 32, over their tacky speech at her nuptials.

The trio had joked about Angelina’s partying, romances, and Staten Island roots, and were booed for calling her ‘the trash to our bags,’ ‘the dump to our island,’ and ‘the fly to our s***.’

Angelina laughed at first, but on the season four premiere revealed how incensed she was by their words.

‘My mother says, ”It was a fairytale wedding with a price to pay”,’ she told her husband, Chris Larangeira, 42, two days after the event. ‘And I agree.’

Chris was equally dispirited, recalling, ‘We’re trying to just laugh with it, go with it, and then I see my family out there. I see my mom, my grandmother… I’m more embarrassed than anything.’

‘Who would ever think it’s acceptable at a wedding to do a speech like that?’ he wondered.

In a confessional, Angelina said, ‘Even if it’s a joke between us, I don’t think it should have been said in front of people that don’t know those jokes. I thought it was a little f***ed up.’

The girls instantly got a negative reaction to their speech, and Nicole quit on the spot, telling Deena, ‘I think this is it. This is not fun.’

Jenni and Deena met up in the days following to discuss how badly everything had gone, and to lament the fact that audio from the wedding had leaked to the press.

On social media, Jenni had gotten ‘thousands of comments and messages about being a bully,’ and Deena said her one-year-old son CJ was getting threats, too.

‘You just wanna go into a little hole and fricking cry,’ admitted Deena, who often phoned Jenni in the middle of the night, devastated by it all.

In a group chat after the wedding, Jenni, Deena and Nicole apologized to Angelina, but when the bride scrolled up she saw that they’d also vowed never to film with her again.

Angelina already wanted to redo her wedding, and invited her grandmother Angelina, a self-proclaimed ‘white witch of God,’ to come sage her home.

Grandma Angelina was just as furious about the trio’s speech, telling Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, 34, over the phone that ‘that J. Lo,’ aka ‘JWoww,’ was ‘a f***ing instigator!’

‘What did they call you?’ she asked Angelina. ‘A dirty hamster?’ Let me tell you something, Ron. They’re all f***ing dirty hamsters, alright?’

With the new year, the cast tried to move forward and make positive changes in their lives.

Ronnie invested in a CBD company, sold his home and moved to Los Angeles, resolving to have a great family with his daughter Ariana, two, even if he split with her mom.

Jenni reunited with ex Zach Carpinello, 26, saying that he’d supported her through the wedding fallout, and adding, ‘The kids adore him, and he makes me happy.’

Vinny Guadagnino, 33, visited her in her new Holmdel, New Jersey, house, which boasted a full bar, tanning room, game room, gym and sauna, and movie theater (called Woww Theater).

Jenni now lived near Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, 38, who had lately been working on his own project: Having a baby with his wife Lauren, 35, who suffered a 2019 miscarriage.

Everyone was tired of Angelina arguing with the girls, so Mike tried to act as ‘The Mediation’ to bring them back together, and urged Angelina to reach out.

On Instagram, Angelina wrote that she hoped to make peace with her pals, but it enraged Jenni, who texted her furiously asking why she hadn’t reached out to them first.

‘Family doesn’t go to social media with their problems,’ she messaged Angelina, who decided it would be wisest not to respond.

Mike realized that his mediation had failed, cracking, ‘I’ve dealt with addiction and prison. But this one? I don’t know where I go from here.’

The premiere’s second episode then found the cast dealing with a whole new situation: the advent of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ronnie realized they wouldn’t be able to ‘get the band back together’ as soon as they’d hoped.

Everyone except for Angelina then met on Zoom for one of their famous ‘family dinners.’

They all learned that Vinny had stopped having casual hook-ups during the pandemic, while DJ Pauly D, 40, grew a beard and started dating Nikki Hall, 26, his Double Shot At Love co-star.

Pauly joked that the gang’s famous ‘Gym, Tan, Laundry’ routine was now ‘Gym, Tan, Isolation.’

Later the men held a Zoom call with Angelina, who was still fixated on her pals’ speech.

‘You would think that quarantine would calm Angelina down,’ Mike said privately. ‘It has made her more fired up.’

‘When are they gonna come to me and say, ‘I f***ed up. I’m sorry’?’ Angelina asked.

As the restrictions around New Jersey gatherings lifted, Mike, Vinny, Jenni and Deena met for a barbecue, maintaining some distance from one another.

Lauren snuck away and re-emerged with a wig and costume that made her look like Angelina.

Seeing her, JWoww and Deena freaked out, wondering, ‘Is that Angelina?’ and vowing to leave.

‘You think I’m a dirty little hamster?’ Lauren asked and turned around, making them laugh.

In Las Vegas, Ronnie and Pauly played basketball, and Ronnie met Nikki for the first time.

‘2020, man,’ Ronnie marveled. ‘I’m single and Pauly’s taken. What else can happen?’

Nine months after Angelina’s wedding, Mike, Vinny, and Lauren visited her at home.

They’d heard a rumor that she and Chris broke up, but found them solid as ever.

Vinny apologized to the couple for having said after the wedding that the speech wasn’t a big deal, because he later recognized it was.

‘I wish the girls would understand,’ Angelina replied.

‘This is like trying to solve peace in the Middle East,’ Vinny told the cameras. ‘These girls hate each other.’

Mike told a story about a scorpion and a frog to try to impart a lesson, but no one got it.

Just then, Double Shot At Love stars Derynn Paige, 27, and Brittani ‘B-Lashes’ Schwartz, 28, arrived that prompted the guys joke that they were like a replacement Jenni and Deena.

Lauren got there next and urged Angelina to stop talking so much about their pals’ speech.

‘You let it take over your entire wedding,’ she said, telling Angelina to take the high road just as she had when Angelina brought up Mike’s prison stint at her own wedding dress fitting.

‘I chose not to have a reaction,’ Lauren pointed out. ‘I think as an adult, if you put attention on something, it’s just gonna get bigger.’

‘You’re making everything be, for lack of a better word, dramatic,’ she continued. ‘It’s not that dramatic… I would never destroy my wedding over such a petty thing.’

‘It wasn’t petty,’ Angelina protested. ‘It was huge to me. It was huge to him. His mother was in tears.’

‘The goal is to move forward, be happy… am I right guys?’ Mike asked.

‘Just because they come at me on social media doesn’t mean I’m not willing to sit down with them,’ Angelina said. ‘I’m willing to sit down with them.’

She resolved, however, to continue to speaking her ‘truth’ on social media.

‘No solution was ever solved by someone saying, ”Yeah but”,’ Mike emphasized. ‘We have to get to the point where you’re saying ”I’m willing to move forward. I’m willing to have an open mind.;’ And that’s it, and cut it. ‘Cause I have to do the same thing with the other side, and they’re probably going to be coming for me the same way that you are.’

To the cameras, he said, ‘The future of this family is currently going sideways real quick. But that does not mean that we’re gonna give up here, guys.’
