SAS Australia’s Firass Dirani reveals what happened when he reached out to Shannan and Merrick

SAS Australia star Firass Dirani reveals what happened when he reached out to fellow competitors Shannan Ponton and Merrick Watts following his exit from the intense military-style show

He regularly clashed with co-stars Shannan Ponton and Merrick Watts on Channel Seven’s grueling military series, SAS Australia

And now Firass Dirani has revealed what happened when he tried to ‘reach out’ to his fellow competitors after butting heads with them.

Speaking on The Morning Show, the 37-year-old explained: ‘I actually reached out to Merrick and reached out to Shannan and I got no reply, but it’s OK.’

‘You have this experience and certain constructs are not met, certain expectations are not met and sometimes that doesn’t sit with people very well.

Firass continued: ‘Shannan, I guess he labelled me something, and I just felt like you don’t know who I am and you’ve only known me for 48 hours.’

While his intentions for reaching out remain unclear, on Wednesday he took yet another swipe at Merrick after getting the boot from the show the night before.

Firass shared an unflattering photo of the radio star pulling a face while submerged in icy water on the hit Channel Seven TV show.

‘Hey @merrickwatts. This is undeniably the funniest thing you did the whole time. This face,’ he captioned the photo.

The 47-year-old comedian is yet to respond to Firass’ post, but he shared the same photo on his own page and wrote: ‘The cold brings out the most attractive elements in us all’.

Last month, Merrick confronted an insolent Firass on SAS Australia after he got in trouble, putting all of his fellow recruits at risk of yet another torturous punishment.

‘You f**ked yourself out there today, you know that,’ Merrick told Firass after he spoke back to the DS (directing staff) during a team challenge.

Later, Merrick told Firass he needed to ‘join the team’, before once again lecturing him on his bad attitude.

‘You need to be part of the team, Firass. Don’t f**k with us,’ he told him.

The two men butted heads once again after Firass broke protocol to return to base to rescue Candice Warner during an evacuation exercise.

Tough talk: Elsewhere the show, Merrick decided he'd go and speak to chief instructor Ant Middleton (right), telling him that he and the other recruits had all agreed they could no longer work alongside Firass
