The Voice judge Guy Sebastian ‘will be returning’ to the franchise in 2021

There has been much speculation as to who will join Seven’s new lineup of coaches on The Voice.

And on Wednesday, Guy Sebastian’s brother Chris confirmed the 39-year-old singer will most likely be returning to the franchise as a judge.

‘I’m going to say I’m 98% sure he’s back. He’ll be back for it, yeah,’ Chris told WHO.

However, the Australian singer, 32, admitted he has ‘no idea’ whether Delta Goodrem will be returning to the show.

‘I don’t know but I’ve got a gig with Delta in a week or two so I’ll ask her then but I’m not too sure,’ he said.

Delta joined the line-up of The Voice for its debut season in 2012 while Guy debuted as a coach on the 2019 season.

Meanwhile, it appears unlikely international judges Boy George and Kelly Rowland will return for the 2021 season of The Voice.

Last month, Boy George tweeted that he’d ‘kindly’ agreed to a pay cut from Channel Nine in order to secure a spot on the coaching panel in 2021.

‘Truth is, I kindly took a pay cut from @TheVoiceAU because of the corona. I am also decent, and they agreed to have me next season,’ the British singer tweeted.

‘If I had known they would swap networks I still would have taken a financial hit because I’m decent and I never burn bridges!’

The Culture Club star did not confirm or deny whether he’ll return to the franchise.

It comes just weeks after George hit back at New Idea for claiming that he and Kelly Rowland had been dumped from The Voice and replaced by local judges.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed Nine ‘failed to renew the contract’ for the 2021 season of The Voice and Seven jumped on the deal ‘very quickly’ in August.

In a statement, Seven’s CEO and managing director James Warburton, described the acquisition as ‘a coup’.
