Jennifer Lopez says she wants to expand her brand with three or four multibillion-dollar businesses

She has a reported net worth of $400million dollars. 

But Jennifer Lopez has her eyes on an even bigger prize, with the 51-year-old pop star telling WSJ. Magazine on Wednesday that she and fiancé Alex Rodriguez have plans to build her brand into an empire.

‘Why can’t we build not one multibillion-dollar business, but three or four?’ the actress-singer-entrepreneur gushed of their twin ambitions. 

‘When Alex came into my life,’ Lopez told the magazine, ‘he was like, “Let’s build your skin-care company. This is a dream of yours. Let’s do it together. Let’s own it.”‘ 

‘It’s like when somebody opens up your eyes to something new – it’s like a broadened horizon,’ the Jenny from the Block hitmaker continued. 

Of the similar scope of their ambitions, Jennifer said, ‘I think where we’re twin souls, or whatever term you want to use, is in the way that there are no limits.’

‘We can do anything. We both have that DNA – like, why not?’ 

Lopez began dating former New York Yankees player Rodriguez in 2017, and the couple became engaged in 2019. 

This week the On The Floor songstress announced she is releasing a skincare line with JLO Beauty in January. 

The Hustlers actress also admitted that when it came to her lucrative perfume line, she wasn’t ‘doing it right’.

Despite Glow by JLo, which launched in 2003, going on to become one of the most successful celebrity fragrances of all time, Lopez griped that she wanted a bigger piece of the pie.

‘I realized this when I sat down with my perfume company and they showed me all these numbers,’ said the mother-of-two. ‘And they said to me, “We’ve made a billion dollars.”‘

‘I’m sitting there going, “You made a billion dollars? I came up with the perfume. I came up with the name. I’m marketing it. It’s my face in the ads. I didn’t make that kind of money. Where is the billion dollars?”‘

In 2017, Designer Parfums signed a new fragrance agreement with the star of The Cell to continue to develop her line of scents.

In the interview, Lopez also spoke about her power as a woman.

‘There is something in me that wants to endure,’ said the star. ‘I feel youthful and I feel powerful and I want to show women how to be powerful.’ 

‘There was a lot of symbolism in the performance at the Super Bowl,’ she said of her 2020 appearance. 

‘I wanted to be at the top of the Empire State Building, like King Kong, beating my chest: “I’m here!” You know? It’s a very powerful thing to use your femininity and your sensuality. We are here and we matter. We deserve to be equal. You have to count us.’

On Monday, the Out of Sight actress told Spanish-language station in DC, El Zol 107.9, that she has suffered from depression.

‘You know, it’s not easy. And during this pandemic I think everybody had a moment when they were depressed or they were scared about what was going to happen,’ said the beauty, who won a People’s Choice Award this week.

The fiance of Alex Rodriguez added, ‘I had a lot of moments where I felt really bad, my kids too, everybody in the house.’

The star, who has 12-year-old twins Max and Emme, added, ‘It’s more important on the days that you feel bad that you get up and do something.’ 

When asked about how her children were doing, she replied: ‘(There was a) moment in which Emme, my daughter, came to my bed and was crying, “Why is this happening? I miss my friends. Why is this happening in our life?”‘ 

The star, who had her kids with singer Mark Anthony said, ‘Everything that was going on, and there were protests and a lot of things they were seeing.

‘(I told her) sometimes things need to change, and when things change sometimes it hurts a bit.

‘But it will always be for the good of everyone,’ added the Super Bowl performer.  

Her film Marry Me with Owen Wilson and Maluma will be released on May 14, 2021.
