SAS Australia: Firass Dirani says he could live in ‘one pair of undies for the rest of his life’

Firass Dirani says he could live in ‘one pair of undies for the rest of his life’ as he reveals what he learned about himself on SAS Australia… hours after being booted from the show

He was kicked off SAS Australia on Tuesday, after ruffling his co-stars’ feathers throughout the entire season.

And hours after his dramatic exit, Firass Dirani revealed the bizarre thing he’s learned about himself during an in-depth Instagram Q&A with Channel Seven.

‘You don’t have to have clean undies!’ the 36-year-old confessed. ‘You can just reuse your undies and dry them. I could literally have one pair of undies for the rest of my life.’

Speaking out: Firass Dirani says he’d be fine with ‘one pair of undies for the rest of his life’ hours after being booted from SAS Australia on Tuesday

Firass said he also learned that human beings do not need nearly as much food as they use, saying ‘consumption’ is a ‘huge part of our lives’.

‘With the food rations… we can eat more simply, and not as much,’ he added. ‘We really don’t need to eat all that much.’

He continued: ‘I also learned that my mouth can get me into trouble sometimes.

‘Not because it’s an intentional thing, but just because it’s my conditioning and the way I’ve always handled things. I think I got there in the end with the teamwork.’

The actor was ordered to turn in his armband by chief instructor Ant Middleton during a shock elimination on Tuesday night’s episode.

It came after weeks of Firass clashing with the show’s instructors and his fellow recruits, with the DS (directing staff) often struggling to pull him into line.

And while he initially branded Ant’s decision to send him home as ‘the worst decision’ he’d ever heard of, there proved to be no hard feelings.

Sitting down for a one-on-one conversation with Ant, 39, Firass told the former soldier he was feeling ‘super energised from the experience’ of being on the show.

Ant then confessed that a large part of the reason why he often butted heads with Firass on the course was because they’re ‘very similar’.

‘You’re louder than life. Very similar to myself. There’s lots of traits I saw in you, hence why we had them little pep talks and we progressed like we did,’ Ant told him.

But while they regularly clashed, Ant insisted that it had been an ‘absolute pleasure’ having Firass on the show.

The two men then shared a hug, before Firass confessed he was feeling ‘relieved’ to be going home.
