Girl trailer finds Bella Thorne returning to her hometown to get revenge on her abusive father

Bella Thorne plays a young woman dead-set on getting revenge against her abusive father in the first trailer for Girl.

Thorne plays the title character, simply known as Girl, who, upon returning home learns that someone had already killed her father before she could get to him.

As she sticks around to look for answers, she learns troubling facts about her family’s legacy and more.

The trailer begins with Girl on a bus, dialing a number on her phone, though she’s told the number is not in service.

She starts looking around her father’s property, with an axe in hand, as she opens the barn and discovers his body.

‘Daddy, who did this to you?’ Girl tearfully asks. as she’s seen wandering around town in other shots.

She’s seen making a phone call to Mama (Elizabeth Saunders), telling her that, ‘He’s dead. Someone tortured him.’

Mama tells her, ‘You get outta there right now. You don’t know that town. There’s something broken there.’ 

Clearly she isn’t convinced, as she’s seen around town some more, including at a local bar where she’s approached by a man while drinking a beer.

‘I’m not coming home, Mama, until I find out who did this,’ Girl says before angrily hanging up the phone.

Girl is seen walking towards train tracks when the Sheriff (Mickey Rourke) backs his vehicle up next to her.

‘Well I’d sure as hell hate to be the one you’re going to see,’ Sheriff says with a smile, while at a bar the bartender tells her to ‘stay away from the brothers.’

Girl is then seen talking to Betty (Lanette Ware), who tells her, ‘Your daddy cared for you so much they killed him.’

While doing laundry, Charmer (Chad Faust, who also writes and directs the film), asks, ‘What’s with the hatchet,’ and she says, ‘It was my daddy’s.’

As he starts handling the hatchet, she angrily attacks him and just before she’s about to bring the hatchet down on him, the sheriff stops her.

Girl will be released in theaters on November 20, before arriving in on demand formats on November 24.
