Karl Stefanovic’s cheeky question creates an awkward moment on the Today show for The Block’s Sarah and George Bragias

Karl Stefanovic has never been one to shy away from asking the tough questions.

But on Monday, the Today host, 46, found himself in an awkward situation with Block contestants, Sarah and George Bragias.

After chatting to the couple about winning the final week of the show with their show-stopping backyard and pool, he cheekily hinted at his interest in their property.

That’s awkward! On Monday, Today host Karl Stefanovic found himself in an awkward situation with Block contestants, Sarah and George Bragias, after cheekily hinting his interest in their property

The journalist asked, ‘Price guide?’, but his question was met with silence and blank stares from the pair.

‘Poker faces. I love it,’ he added, seemingly in a bid to save the cringeworthy moment before awkwardly laughing it off with co-host Allison Langdon.

‘What did you say, sorry? Sorry, I missed what you said,’ Sarah said, alluding to a small hiccup with the audio.

Co-host Allison then chimed in: ‘He wanted to know how much and will you do a special deal for a friend, you know, like Karlos here beside me.’

Karl’s cheeky question about Sarah and George’s property price comes after real estate agents tasked with auctioning off the properties hinted at celebrity interest in the homes.

Whitefox Real Estate agent Lana Samuels, who will auction off the 1920s-inspired property developed by father-daughter team Harry and Tash, told Domain last week the home has had plenty of interest from young families, couples and investors.

She told the publication that while she has yet to receive inquiries from celebrity buyers, it is still ‘early days’ before auction day on November 22.

‘You don’t know until the auction. There could be someone we’ve never met before who says “I’ll have that, thanks,”‘ she said.

It would not be the first time a high profile person has been interested in one of the properties on The Block.

Comedian Dave Hughes snapped up Elyse Knowles and Josh Barker’s house in Elsternwick, back in 2017, for $3.067 million.

Earlier this year, the comedian listed the five-bedroom home for rent at $2,000 per week.
