Amber Heard goes for a hike after confirming her return to the Aquaman franchise

Amber Heard recently spoke out against ‘paid campaigns’ to have her removed from the Aquaman franchise.

But despite a petition reaching over a million signatures and social media campaigns urging DC Warner Bros to drop her from the sequel, it seems those efforts have fallen short.

This week Heard, 34, confirmed that she would be reprising her role as Mera in the superhero franchise and looked ready to blow off some steam as she went for a hike in Los Angeles

For her sporty outing Amber suited up in black leggings and a red flannel with a pair of tattered brown boots.

She tied her blonde locks back in a braid slipping a coral bandana on her head.

Wearing a backpack with her initials on it she slipped a face mask on, as she met up with a friend who was dressed down in a blue sweatshirt and leggings with a trucker hat.

Heard tended to her dog, briefly taking Birdie off the leash to run around, clasping a canned beverage in her hand.

Looking to be in good spirits after reigning victorious in the ongoing feud with Depp, 57, she put on a smiley display for the camera.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly on Thursday, Heard said that she was ‘excited to get started,’ filming the Aquaman sequel, in spite of those who tried to stop it happening.

‘Paid rumors and paid campaigns on social media don’t dictate [casting decisions] because they have no basis in reality. Only the fans actually made Aquaman and Aquaman 2 happen,’ she said.

Though the movie has not been officially greenlit by the studio and has no set date to start production, Amber has maintained that she is not going anywhere.

Recently Depp was forced to resign from Fantastic Beasts 3, though he is still set to receive his full eight-figure salary.

The studio ultimately cited his lawsuit against UK based paper The Sun as the final nail in the coffin as they did not want to be embroiled in any sort of controversy.

Suing the paper for libel on account of them calling him a ‘wife beater,’ his 2018 case was dismissed on November 2nd, as the British High Court ruled that the claims were ‘substantially true.’

He has denied all allegations of abuse and also vowed that he would appeal the case, posting a signed statement on his Instagram on November 6th.

A petition was launched after his firing, calling for her removal from the film while making scathing allegations.

The petition from Depp’s fans seeking 1.5M signatures has already garnered over 1.3M.

It reads, ‘Amber Heard has been exposed as a domestic abuser by Johnny Depp. In his $50M lawsuit, Johnny Depp describes many incidents of domestic abuse that he suffered at the hands of his (then) wife Amber Heard, including one incident where she punched him twice in the face and another where she shattered his finger with a vodka bottle, and his finger had to be surgically reattached. He will bear the scar from that for the rest of his life.’

It continues, ‘She has systematically crusaded to ruin Depp in Hollywood, repeating multiple accounts of fake incidents in which she had actually abused Johnny Depp, but lied and created false accounts of him being the abuser.’

The tumultuous couple called it quits in 2016 after four years of dating, with a legal battle ensuing almost immediately after.

Heard filed a temporary restraining order in 2016 and filed for divorce, alleging that Depp had abused her while under the influence of alcohol and cocaine.

The divorce was finalized in 2017 and both parties sign a non-disparagement clause to keep them from slandering each other until Heard came out with a Washington Post Op-Ed in 2018 where she described herself as a ‘public figure representing domestic abuse.’

Though never mentioned him by name in the piece, her words prompted Depp to sue her for $50M in damages for defamation.
