The Block 2019 winners Tess and Luke Struber announce pregnancy

They were crowned the winners of The Block 2019, taking home the whopping $730,000 cash prize.

And the celebrations continue for Tess and Luke Struber this week, with the news they’re expecting a child.

The couple posed for a glamorous photoshoot in The Sunday Telegraph’s Stellar magazine, and said parenthood was something they have been planning on. 

At the time of publication, Tess revealed that she’s almost 20 weeks pregnant.

‘We’re having a baby, and we’re so excited. It’s something we’ve been planning on for a while, and the stars aligned perfectly. I’m almost 20 weeks now, so I’m pretty pregnant,’ she said with a laugh.  

Tess went on to say that while it hasn’t been the easiest pregnancy, she’s ‘loving every minute’.  

‘I’ve lost my hair, I’ve had skin issues, I’ve been sick every day, I’ve had migraines, nose bleeds… but I’m loving every minute of it.’  

Elsewhere in the interview, Luke surprisingly revealed that they’re yet to spend any of the $730,000 cash prize.

Luke explained how the coronavirus pandemic halted any plans on travelling, instead putting all their earnings towards a house and starting a family. 

‘We’re going to be so boring here. We haven’t spent a dollar,’ he revealed.

In an interview with 9Entertainment earlier this year, Tess described their time on the hit reality series as life-changing.

‘It’s definitely changed our lives, I mean, obviously the money that we won is just going to set us up for the rest of our lives and we want to spend it wisely – we’re not going to blow it or anything like that,’ she said. 

Luke added that they’re grateful ‘for all of the opportunities’ they’ve been given, and that fan support makes it ‘all worthwhile’.
