Police are hunting a man who licked a woman’s bag and face on a late-night train.

British Transport Police have released a CCTV image after the suspected sexual assault on a train between King’s Cross, London, and Welwyn North in Hertfordshire.

The incident happened during the 39-minute train journey at around 12.20am on September 23.

The man boarded the train in London, and then is reported to have licked the woman’s bag and then licked her face before getting off at Welwyn North.

A BTP spokesman said: ‘Officers would like to speak to the man in the image who may have information that could help their investigation.

‘The suspect, who boarded the train at Kings Cross, is reported to have licked a woman’s bag then licked her face. He left the train at Welwyn North station.

‘Anyone who knows him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.’
