Speaking to MailOnline ahead of the show’s first ever UK-based series, the Olympic champion, 37, said that while he has some doubts about signing up for the show he wanted to take on the challenge as it’s ‘something different’ from his sport success.
Mo will join nine other celebrities including Beverley Callard and Vernon Kay moving to Gwrych Castle in north Wales this weekend after I’m A Celebrity was relocated from its usual home in Australia due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He added: ‘I think I’m nervous about being on camera 24/7, whatever you’re doing, taking a shower that’s the nerve-racking part!’
‘You’re always expecting it’s gonna be incredible and then you just go in and it’s less than your expectations. I just want to get myself in there and then I’ll see someone I recognise. That’s the exciting part.’

The gold medallist – who was is thought to be this year’s highest-paid contestant with an eye-watering £300,000 salary.
Asked whether his view on the show had changed upon learning it had relocated to Wales, Mo said he’s just looking forward to the experience and taking on the trials.
He said: ‘I think it was one of those things where you know you see the show so far with the hot weather that was part of it, but with COVID and difficult times for all of us and round the world…
‘When I heard it was happening in Wales it was like ‘oh yeah’ it just makes more closer to home. I think if we get a roof of our heads it should be fine and that’s part of the challenge too.’
