Coronation Street SPOILER: New arrival Daisy Midgeley is set to cause trouble at the Rovers for stepmother Jenny Bradley

Coronation Street have introduced new character Daisy Midgeley, who is set to cause a stir for her stepmother Jenny Bradley, as she arrives on the cobbles.  

Daisy (played by actress Charlotte Jordan, 25) is the daughter of Jenny’s ex-husband, and was raised by her as a teenager. 

Jenny (played by Sally Ann Matthews, 50) and Daisy were close until Jenny’s son passed away and her marriage deteriorated, resulting in her decision to leave her past life behind.

Despite the series of unfortunate events, the pair still remained in contact, causing Jenny to be excited when her stepdaughter arrives on Coronation Street. 

But as time passes and she settles in, it becomes clear that there is a lot more to Daisy beneath the surface.

According to producer, Iain MacLeod, the Corrie newcomer is full of sass and fun, and is ready to shake things up for the residents of Weatherfield.     

He elaborated: ‘Daisy might seem like sweetness and light at first, but can be a maelstrom of minxy mischief when the mood takes her.

‘She revels in devilment and can be very self-serving, but she’s fiercely loyal to those she cares about – although her loyalties can change in a heartbeat. 

‘Above all, she will bring chaos and conflict into Jenny’s life, as her step-mum tries to make up for walking out on her some years ago.’ 

Charlotte who plays Daisy, previously featured in Netflix drama, Free Rein, and is delighted to be joining the ITV cast.

She said: ‘I am thrilled to be joining such a well-beloved and iconic show like Corrie during its 60th anniversary and especially whilst living in such uncertain times. 

‘Daisy has been a delight to play so far with her lack of filter and flirty nature but there’s certainly more to her than meets the eye. 

‘I’m excited to flesh her out and see what lies ahead for hers and Jenny’s relationship.’

Coronation Street airs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm
