Victoria’s Secret model Sara Sampaio gets ready to work up a sweat at DogPound gym in West Hollywood

Victoria’s Secret model Sara Sampaio has to put in work for her body, despite being genetically endowed. 

On Thursday the 29-year-old Portuguese model was seen getting ready to work up a sweat at the famed DogPound gym.

With a revolving door of celebrities that include Justin and Hailey Bieber and Vanessa Hudgens, the West Hollywood based gym helps craft many a famous physique.   

Clad in a pair of patterned red and black floral leggings, Sampaio showed off her statuesque legs. 

She flashed a hint of her toned midriff in a white long sleeve crop top and a pair of New Balance sneakers, carrying a small leather tote around her arm. 

Masked up for the session – as the few open gyms are opting for personal training or reduced intake with restrictions – she kept it safe as she greeted her trainer. 

Making sure to stay hydrated she carried a tumbler of water in tow as she walked with her hair pulled back in a ponytail. 

She opted to go makeup-free for the outing, eventually stripping off her shirt to reveal a matching sports bra while getting in a full body workout. 

Over the summer, Sampaio got back from visiting her native Portugal to see her family, as the pandemic has thwarted traveling – especially internationally.  

Starting to model at the age of 16, she moved to Paris by age 19, eventually settling in NYC. 

A full-fledged VS Angel in 2015, she rode the wave until the famous fashion show was cancelled indefinitely in 2019, after the show and company faced backlash for their discrimination against plus size and transgendered models. 

Outspoken about her role as a model, Sampaio spoke to Net-A-Porter in 2018 where she talked about standing up for herself and Victoria’s Secret as a whole. 

‘I think it’s kind of hypocritical that now people want everyone to be equal, they want everyone to be a feminist. But if a girl is being sexy because she wants to be sexy, people are saying, ‘Oh, no, you can’t be sexy.’ Isn’t that anti-feminism?’ she said. 

Talking about the industry she said, ‘It’s such a disposable industry that girls feel like they can’t say anything, because there will be some other girl out there who will just do it,

When it comes to keeping her figure, the model shared that she would ‘live off pizza’ if she could, but instead has to keep her body in shape for work, at one point training about five times a week. 

Though still modeling the brand’s lingerie in print and digital form, the Armani beauty model moved from the fashion headquarters of NYC to Los Angeles full time in 2019.
