‘We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority,’ she said. ‘We appreciate your support and ask for privacy for us and our family as we navigate the future.’

Ant on September 26 posted a picture of the pair, implying that the split came at Christina’s request.

‘Anyone who really knows me knows that I don’t like to share private matters publicly,’ he said. ‘I have remained silent while holding on to hope. I never gave up on us. I pray Christina’s decision brings her happiness.’

Christina took to with social media earlier this month to strike back at commenters who had tabbed her ‘an absent mother’ amid her thriving career.

‘When I get told “you must be an absent mother because you are not with your kids” – smh wake up people,’ Christina said, using an abbreviation of a term for disapproval, shaking my head.

Christina said she doesn’t post much on her account and isn’t looking to share images of her kids ‘every freaking day to make it a contest of who’s a better parent.’

She added: ‘This doesn’t mean I’m not with my kids – it means the opposite – I am with them- I’m present. So stop parent shaming people, stop choosing sides when there is no side to choose.’
