Zara McDermott appears to CONFIRM she is back together with Sam Thompson

Zara McDermott appeared to confirm she has won back her ex-boyfriend Sam Thompson as she was spotted leaving his home at 9am on Wednesday morning following her cheating scandal.

Rumours have been rife in recent days that the couple have rekindled their romance and Zara leaving Sam’s house in a borrowed hoodie and Sam refollowing his ex on Instagram will do little to squash speculation.

Sam, 27, called it quits with Zara, 23, after he learned she had cheated on him with a colleague while appearing on X Factor: Celebrity last year – and the allegations came to light in September.

However it appears that they have managed to work out their differences, after the Made In Chelsea star was spotted making a coy exit from her ex’s house before Sam emerged later on.

Zara left the property wearing an oversized purple hooded jacket, similar to one her former beau Sam wore to an event in April last year.

In her arm she carried the plaid shirt jacket she was pictured wearing during a meet up with Sam last week, as they filmed their final scenes together for MIC before the current series draws to a close.

Zara’s uncharacteristically mismatched look also included a pair of pale grey sweatpants and a black baseball jacket, while she also sported a pair of Nike trainers.

The former Love Island star wore her purple hoodie up and covered her face with a blue surgical mask while making her way home from Sam’s pad.

The Storm managed model toted a Dior handbag on her arm, while also carrying a series of other bags full of her belongings over her shoulder.

Shortly after, Sam was also seen leaving the same property wearing a dusty pink hooded jacket with a pair of form-fitting grey tracksuit bottoms and Yeezy trainers.  

He was riding a skateboard and listening to music through his AirPods.

Following their split Sam unfollowed Zara on Instagram and publicly ignored her several declarations of love, however he has now opted to refollow her, adding to suggestions that they are back on.

On Friday Zara and Sam were spotted meeting in a London park as they filmed scenes for the E4 reality show.

While Zara and Sam have appeared on episodes of MIC to try and rebuild their fractured romance, this was the first time the former couple have been seen together since their split in September.

The meeting came as the former couple sparked speculation that they’ve secretly reunited as reports claimed that ‘word amongst their inner circle was they are back together’.

They were said to have enjoyed a roast with their friends, and a source told The Sun: ‘They were all having such a nice time that one got carried away and uploaded a post with Sam and Zara in it, forgetting that they’re not officially together.

‘The friend soon realised their mistake and deleted the post before it drew too much attention. The word amongst their inner circle is they’re back together, but to the public it’s a different story.’ 

Since then, the blonde revealed she won’t be quitting MIC at the end of the current series, despite recently telling her pal and Sam’s ex Tiffany Watson she plans to move to Los Angeles to pursue her modelling career further. 

During last week’s episode of Made In Chelsea, Sam was visited by his pal Reza Amiri-Garroussi who came bearing a letter from Zara.

On the break up, Reza said: ‘Got to say though after meeting her, I did feel bad for her. She’s in a bad way. It’s a s*** situation for everyone involved. But she really is upset. Legit.’

Sam then broke down while reading out the letter from Zara, which read: ‘Dear Sam, since you’ve been away I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on a lot of things. I’ve reflected on my life and our life together and also the kind of life I want to live…

‘Before I continue with some of the things I need to say, I just want to tell you again I am sorry with my whole entire heart for what I did….

‘I’m so deeply ashamed of my actions and the way I hurt you. I was selfish, immature and stupid. There is no excuse.’

After his meeting with Sam, Reza then reported back to Zara that Sam is ‘completely out,’ despite her attempts and letter to win him back to which she started crying. However these new snaps tell a different story. 

Over the weekend, Zara shared an impassioned throwback post of her and Sam kissing, which read: ‘I choose you. And I’ll choose you over and over. Without pause, without a doubt, in a heartbeat. I’ll keep choosing you’.   

The post comes after Sam mocked the moment Zara begged for his forgiveness on TV in a now-deleted video, before later apologising for causing any offence and insisting he asked for her permission. 

He insisted the playful video wasn’t ‘meant to be revenge’ following the end of their romance, and she ‘fully understood the context’ before it was shared.

On Sunday Sam posted a TikTok appearing to poke fun at his and Zara’s awkward MIC reunion, which saw her tearfully beg for forgiveness after cheating on him. 

Sam’s video came just hours after Zara implied that she wished she could turn back time as she shared a throwback snap from their romantic getaway in July and wrote: ‘To go back here…’, as she shared another cryptic post on social media. 

In the snap, she showcased her sensational physique in a tiny lilac bikini as she uploaded the old snap from Santa Marina Resort in Mykonos, where she visited with her ex-boyfriend.

Zara wished to ‘go back here,’ as she referred to her romantic retreat with Sam. 

Her Made In Chelsea ex was left reeling after learning from a mutual friend that she had cheated on him during her stint on Celebrity: X Factor last year, six months into their romance. 

Earlier this month, Sam revealed he has been going to therapy to help deal with the bitter demise of his 18-month relationship. 

Sam told OK! Magazine: ‘I’ve got an incredibly awesome snuggle of people around me. I think that also I try and look at the good things in life and I wake up every morning and say what I’m grateful for.

‘It’s such an amazing way of starting your day. I also get therapy. I believe a lot of people should, just with the day and age we’re in. There’s so much pressure on us as a society and it’s hard.

‘The one I’ve got now, I’ve only had about six months. But then I had one before that for a short while.’

Sam added that he goes whenever he feels stressed, and finds going once a week can be really valuable for his mental health. 

Earlier this month, the reality star hared a video montage of her 16-month relationship with Sam in a last ditch attempt to win him back. 

The video started with the caption: ‘To the love of my life, I want you to know how much I adore you. This video will show you why!’

Zara then went on to share different clips, many taken from their Instagram stories over the course of their relationship as well as holiday throwbacks. 

The television personality added key points of their time together in the montage; including Sam’s 28th birthday celebrations, when she moved into his South West London home during lockdown and playing pranks on each other. 

Zara accompanied the video with Nathan Skyes’ Over and Over Again, which has the lyrics: ‘Just put your heart in my hands/ Promise it won’t get broken/ We’ll never forget this moment/ Yeah, we’ll stay brand-new ’cause I’ll love you.’

It came to light in September that Zara had cheated on Sam while appearing on the X Factor alongside her Love Island co-stars in the band,  No Love Lost.

A source told MailOnline at the time: ‘Zara cheated on Sam with someone in the music industry. Someone connected to the X Factor.

‘Sam is obviously distraught about this. He only found out about it very recently and has escaped for a few days. 

‘Zara regrets it and feels terrible. She knows it was a huge mistake and is extremely upset.’

The couple were an item for 16 months, with Zara joining Sam on his E4 show Made In Chelsea as a cast member.

On the show, she was seen declaring that she wants to marry and have children with Sam. She also moved in with him at the start of lockdown.

Zara reacted passionately when Sam’s ex Tiffany returned to the series this year, upset at the mere idea that Tiff was back on the scene. 

The exes have remained friends, with Sam even still pally with her father Clive. Yet they have both moved on since their long-term relationship.

While Sam was connected with former-cast member Mimi Bouchard before meeting Zara, Tiff was in another long-term relationship that ended earlier this year. 

Zara – who found fame on Love Island two years ago – and Sam called quits on their romance in September, just weeks after enjoying a loved-up holiday in Mykonos.

The end of their relationship came days after Sam’s sister Louise, 30, posted a cryptic tweet about a friend ‘cheating’ and trust taking ‘seconds to break’.

A source told MailOnline on Thursday: ‘Zara and Sam split towards the end of last month. They had been arguing a lot since moving in together as a result of lockdown and things just built up between them.

‘Zara has moved back to her parents’ house in Essex where she’s taking some time for herself, she really loved Sam so this hasn’t been easy for her.

‘Sam has gone away to have a break from it all and clear his head away from Zara and social media.’

Louise tweeted last Wednesday, ‘Cheaters always want you to be loyal while they’re being unfaithful,’ which prompted fans to assume she had trouble in her own relationship with fiancé Ryan Libbey.

Days later she sparked further speculation by posting: ‘Trust takes years to build, seconds to break, and forever to repair’ followed by ‘I’m proud of my heart. It’s been played, stabbed, cheated, burned and broken… somehow still works.’ 

An insider told MailOnline: ‘Things between Louise and Ryan are really great. Her tweet last week was actually aimed at a friend.’

Zara and Sam, who regularly post on Instagram and TikTok together, haven’t shared any content as a couple since August. 

The couple went public with their romance in May 2019, four months after Zara’s split from Love Island co-star Adam Collard.

Speaking in July, Zara said: ‘I have learnt more about Sam in the last couple of months than I have the whole of last year. Sam is quite a weird person.

‘He needs his space but also likes attention and it’s been hard to know when to give him his boy time and when to be a really attentive girlfriend.

‘It hasn’t been plain sailing for us like we have argued over the most stupid things. I would think “Why am I arguing with Sam over who’s unloading the dishwasher today?”

‘Sometimes I will do the wrong thing and he’ll do the wrong thing but it’s part of being in a relationship.’ 

Zara had told MailOnline she believed her relationship with Sam would be long-lasting and had dreams of the pair marrying.

She said: ‘I would not be with someone who I couldn’t see myself being with forever. I know him well enough to know the way we work and being able to smile and laugh everyday is not something I’ve never had before. 

‘Sam teaches me not to take myself so seriously. He brings out all the good in me and that’s all I want in a person.

‘His sister Louise is like a sister to me now, we are super close and lockdown has bought us together so much’I don’t know how we’re going to have time apart now. I do love him so much – he’s the sweetest thing.’
