Multiple people injured in explosion during remembrance service at Saudi Arabian cemetery for non-Muslims

Multiple people have been wounded in an explosion at a Remembrance Day service at a non-Muslim cemetery in the Saudi capital of Jeddah.

Greek and French officials were in attendance and there are unconfirmed reports that British ex-patriots were also there.

A grenade was hurled which injured at least two people, according to a correspondent for French newspaper Le Figaro.

French senator Damien Regnard tweeted: ‘All my support to our compatriots in Saudi Arabia and in Jeddah.’

Photos emerging on social media purport to show a wounded person lying on the ground being treated by men in military dress, as well as blood spatters beside wreaths for the service.
