‘Big yikes!’ Former Gogglebox star Yvie Jones breaks out in hives as she discovers she’s allergic to cats after looking after a friend’s kitten

Yvie Jones excitedly announced that she was taking care of an adorable kitten called Audrey on Monday.

But less than 24 hours later, the 47-year-old was covered in hives following an unexpected allergic reaction.

Uploading a selfie to Instagram, the former Gogglebox Australia star appeared worse for wear as she revealed her bad skin reaction.

‘Turns out I’m allergic to cats,’ she wrote underneath the photo.

A devastated Yvie admitted to adding a filter to the image so she doesn’t scare her followers, writing: ‘This is with a filter on so you don’t have to get the full effect.’

In another video, also shared to her story, Yvie showcases her rash without a filter and said that she had visited the doctors.

It is understood Yvie was minding the adorable pet feline for a friend.

Yvie’s medical revelation comes just weeks after the reality star finally revealed the real reason for her shock departure from the Channel 10 show.

In a livestream Q&A, Yvie explained that the pair were leaving the program because her co-star Angie Kent has moved out of their shared home.

‘We wanted to let everyone know the reason we left is because Angie doesn’t live in Sydney anymore,’ Yvie said.

The carer-turned-reality star added the hectic filming schedule, made it difficult and expensive for Angie – who commuted back and forth last season.

‘It just became really, really hard to do the logistics of being there. Last season she was coming and going and it was just way too difficult, she couldn’t afford it.’
