Taylor Swift plants a slew of Folklore-related Easter eggs in her latest commercial for Capital One

Taylor Swift fans have gone wild after the singer hid ‘Easter Eggs’ themed around her Folklore album in her new Capital One commercial.

Folklore became the ultimate COVID-19 quarantine soundtrack, following its highly successful release in July.

And although the singer-songwriter, 30, appears in the advert for a mere 11-second, Swift cleverly paid homage to her eighth studio album with the little details.

Cardigans, the number 13 and a jar of pennies: Taylor Swift fans have gone wild after she hid ‘Easter Eggs’ themed around her Folklore album in her new Capital One commercial

On the hunt: Although she appears for a mere 11-seconds, Swift filled her brief scene with a ton of special details for eagle-eyed fans to spot, something she loves to do in all her music videos

The commercial revolves around convincing the viewer that banking with Capital One is ‘the easiest decision in the history of decisions.’

‘Sort of like…’ utters the Capital One spokesperson as the scene cuts to Taylor standing in front of a window pondering what she ‘gonna wear’ for the day.

‘It’s look kind of chilly out today. What am I gonna wear?’ she says, before making her way towards a large closet with barnyard doors.

Resting on each side of the closet are built in shelves that are packed to the brim with various, seemingly random objects.

‘I think I’ll go with…’ continues Swift as she opens the giant doors to her closet.

‘…a cardigan!’ she exclaimed excitedly as numerous versions of the same cable knit cardigan she donned in her Cardigan music video rested next to one another on hangers.

Being that Cardigan is lead single off of Folklore, the commercial was suggesting that banking with the credit card company is as easy as Taylor choosing what she is gonna wear on a chilly day.

She then chose one of the cloned cardigans and gazed at it with a confident expression before fleeing off screen to put it on.

After her Capital One commercial hit YouTube, Taylor’s fans eagerly captured screengrabs of the numerous closet shelves in order to decipher the meaning behind each object.

Resting on the right side of Taylor’s closet on the bottom shelf happens to be a lime green dog statue, which directly alludes to a lyric in the Folklore hit The Last Great American Dynasty.

The lyric reads: ‘She stole his dog and dyed it key lime green.’

Located on the second shelf to the left of Taylor’s spacious closet happens to be a statue of the singer’s lucky number 13 and an hourglass that is available for fans to purchase.

The hourglass relates to Taylor’s song August and the poignant lyric: ‘August slipped away into a moment in time.’

The third shelf on the right features a wooden statue of the hitmaker’s initial, while the second shelf included a jar full of pennies that stem from the song The 1.

‘Roaring twenties, tossing pennies in the pool,’ sings Swift in the retrospective track.

A few of Taylor’s Easter eggs were very on the nose, like a that of a peace sign figurine sitting on the bottom right side.

One of Folklore’s 17 tracks emotional songs happens to be titled Peace.

There was also a mirrorball positioned next to a miniature easel on the second to last shelf on the right side that represented the song Mirrorball, which is also present on Folklore.

Located on the very top shelf on the left side is a statue of an axe that coincides with the lyric from Invisible String that goes: ‘Cold was the steel of my axe to grind.’

Those are just a few of the symbolic items that lined the shelves of Taylor’s brief, but highly detailed Capital One cameo.

As if loading her shelves with familiar items were not enough, Taylor even happened to be wearing the exact same outfit she donned in a recent Instagram photo of herself.

The photo in question showed the star posing with a plate of Biden/Harris 2020 cookies she had crafted in her kitchen.

She is donning the exact same muted blue blouse, black overalls, and chain necklace as in the commercial.

The striking similarities caused many fans to declare that the commercial may have been filmed on the same day.
