How fowl! Sunrise presenter Natalie Barr is covered in bird poo while covering the U.S. election from the White House

She has been proudly covering the U.S. election for Sunrise from the White House  in Washington, D.C. over the past week.

And on Sunday, Natalie Barr shared a rather unfortunate moment that occurred during her reporting duties.

The 52-year-old television presenter revealed she was covered in bird poo after a flock of birds flew over her head.

‘As I bid farewell to DC I think this shot sums up a lot,’ she wrote, alongside a photo of fellow news personality Ashlee Mullany trying to clean her hair.

‘A massive flock flew over us as we stood on the lawn of the White House,’ she explained.

Natalie concluded the caption by tagging her fellow anchor and writing: ‘Thanks girlfriend. Bye Donald. And nobody should ever think they’re above it.’

The post comes just days after the TV presenter snapped back at an Instagram follower who criticised her for travelling to the States amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The troll left an ignorant comment about Natalie ‘not protecting herself’ after she shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the White House in Washington, D.C.

Natalie was sitting on a stool in the corner of the White House press room, while surrounded by equipment.

She had a microphone in hand as she recorded a voice-over for a story. The photo was taken by Sunrise cameraman Beau Molloy.

T Natalie responded to the troll, 'Yes I am [protecting myself], actually. Everywhere we go we wear masks as it's compulsory here. We wipe down everything with alcohol wipes. We use hand sanitiser and wash our hand constantly'

Natalie joked in her caption: ‘The glamour.’

‘Recording a voice for today’s election story with cameraman @beaumolloy in a tech storage area in the White House Press Room,’ she added.

A follower wrote in the comments section: ‘By going to America to cover the election you are not protecting yourself [from] Covid.’

Natalie swiftly responded: ‘Yes I am, actually. Everywhere we go we wear masks as it’s compulsory here.’
