On Jesy’s absence, a statement released to MailOnline read: ‘Jesy is unwell and will not be appearing on tonight’s final of Little Mix The Search.

‘She will also not be hosting or performing at tomorrow’s MTV EMA’s.’

Little Mix had been due to host the 27th edition of one of the biggest nights in global music – the 2020 MTV EMAs – which will air globally on Sunday.

Musician Jesy appeared during Friday night’s instalment of the show, which had been rescheduled from last Saturday.

The media personalities had an emotional decision to make during the show, as they firmed up the line-up for the final show.

Friday’s episode marked the first time all four girls were able to appear in person on the live shows, as songstress Jade missed out on being in the studio for the first show after she was forced to self-isolate at home.

Last month, BBC was forced to postpone an episode after ‘a small number’ of crew members tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement, the broadcaster confirmed the planned shows had been delayed by a week so crew members could self-isolate.

They said: ‘We can confirm that a small number of people on the Little Mix The Search production have tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.

‘Due to the format of the show we have made the decision to postpone Saturday’s programme.

‘There are rigorous protocols in place to manage Covid-19 as the safety of all those involved in the production is paramount. We hope to be back on air on Saturday 24 October.’

BBC also confirmed that none of Little Mix themselves have tested positive for coronavirus.
