‘I’m so happy I went on the show and I gave it my all. I made a decision based on what I knew at the time and I don’t have any regrets,’ she said.

‘I feel like I wanted to give Peter go because I think, I thought he was worth it.’

Studio 10 host Sarah Harris pointed out that Becky had chosen Pete because she thought he was ‘husband material’, unlike her young and carefree runner-up Adrian Baena.

‘I know, I thought he was the safe, secure option and…’ Becky replied as she took a moment to maintain her composure.

She continued: ‘Yeah, something that could be long-term and I thought they could be a lot of potential in us.’

Becky said that she was still trying figure out why Pete had dumped her just three days after filming the finale in September.

‘I don’t know, he made up his mind and that’s just… That is just it,’ she said.

Despite getting emotional while discussing the split, she reassured fans: ‘I am in a happy place. I just feel like I will meet my person, when the time comes.’

Becky confirmed just hours after the Bachelorette finale aired that her relationship with Pete had ended.

She announced on Instagram that while her sister, Elly, had found love with Frazer Neate, things ‘didn’t work out’ for her and her man.

Becky later told The Daily Telegraph that Pete had dumped her over FaceTime less than a week after the finale, leaving her ‘blindsided’.

She said they’d spent three days together after filming wrapped, before he went back to Adelaide and she returned to Newcastle.

But her hopes for a long-distance relationship soon crumbled.

‘I feel a bit cheated because three days after spending time together and having a really nice time, I feel like that isn’t giving it a go,’ she said.

Describing the moment she was brutally dumped over the phone, Becky added: ‘He said he didn’t think there was a spark there and he isn’t my person.

‘Pete ended it on his own accord. He told me that he had some concerns in the show that he hadn’t voiced.’
