They are set to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary next month. 

And Christine Lampard recalled the romantic moment her husband Frank Lampard flew to Belfast to surprise her at Christmas during the early stages of their relationship.

Speaking on Friday’s Loose Women, Christine, 41, gushed that Frank’s big gesture ‘meant a great deal to me’ and cemented how serious they were about each other.

During a segment about people taking leaps of love, Christine gave a rare insight into her relationship with the former footballer, as she opened up on Frank’s sweet surprise.

She said: ‘I remember, after three months of going out, I’d gone back home for Christmas and Frank flew to Belfast without telling me, as a complete surprise.

‘And I think it was those early days things of trying to cement the seriousness of what we had and that was so unexpected and completely out of character.’

‘It meant a great deal to me’ she added.

The happy couple first crossed paths at the Pride Of Britain awards in 2009 – an event neither had planned to attend.

The broadcaster previously told Lorraine: ‘It’s a strange one, because it is ten years ago that we met at them, it was one of those nights that neither of us were meant to go to.

‘It was a last minute thing for him and I arrived at the awards late because of work. We were sat on tables next to each other.’

The couple got engaged in 2011, before going on to tie the knot in a lavish ceremony at St Paul’s Church in London in December 2015.

Last month, Christine and Frank celebrated their daughter Patricia’s second birthday at home.

They marked the day at home with a Peppa Pig-themed party, filled with balloons, presents and cake.

The couple made sure to surprise Patricia by decorating their home with an array of adorable animal balloons as well as ones adorned with Peppa Pig characters.

Finishing off the fun celebration, the brunette, who recently revealed that little Patricia is potty training, also ordered a tray full of chocolate cupcakes that were shaped like hearts and topped with other sweet treats. 

Chelsea manager Frank is also dad to daughters Luna, 15, and Isla, 13, from a previous relationship with Elen Rivas.
