Alex Scott puts on a chic display in white crochet dress and ankle boots at The One Show

Alex Scott put on a chic display in a white crochet dress as she appeared on The One Show on Thursday.

The former footballer, 36, looked incredible in a white crochet dress, which featured  a mini dress beneath, with a racy overlay.

The dress teased a glimpse of her cleavage and revealed her honed legs in the gorgeous dress. 

She boosted her height with cream boots and accessorised with a poppy badge.

The beauty wore her raven tresses in curls while her pretty features were enhanced with a radiant palette of make-up.

Alex, who is rumoured to be the newest host of A Question of Sport looked in great spirits as she left the studio. 

The appearance comes as Alex detailed the horrifying death and rape threats she has received from social media trolls.

The sports presenter was the first guest on the new series of Clara Amfo’s podcast This City, where she detailed the horrendous backlash she gets online. 

In the candid new chat, Alex told how the hate was at times ‘so hard to deal with’, and left her terrified because she lives alone. 

The former Arsenal player has been the target of online hate for years, from her career, her time presenting Football Focus and most recently after being tipped to replace sacked host Sue Barker, 64, on A Question Of Sport. 

Rumours of her new presenting role were met with a fierce Twitter backlash which included vile trolling referencing Scott’s race. 

Speaking to presenter Clara, 36, about the online abuse, she said: ‘It was like every day, every day when I was coming off I was just getting this wave and this wave. And then like I said, then there were death threats and rape threats. 

‘I live on my own and I’m like, I can’t even. Who can I even speak to about this? I don’t want my mum to worry. I don’t want, like how I said people to feel like I can’t handle myself or I can’t handle this business because what? 

‘People’s go-to line is to “Just get off social media.” And I’m like, you don’t understand. 

‘I have good fans who I want to connect with and show my personality. And then you just have this wave and this hate, and it was so hard in the early stages to deal with.’

Alex has previously spoken about being driven into a ‘dark place’ following online abuse, which saw her turn to drink to deal with her ordeal. 

But the former Strictly Come Dancing star went on to say that instead of now being affected by the abuse, she’s continuing to use her voice to call for change and to promote positivity.

She continued: ‘But like how you said like you need to just use your voice. I understand the importance cause before I was just there. But actually no, I need to fight for change to happen. 

‘I’m in a position where I can keep having these conversations. I know I’ve got a role and I have to play; I have a platform and it’s my responsibility to use my platform in the right way.’

Meanwhile, Alex opened up about life growing up as a mixed race girl with a white mother, adding that her mother would try to ‘protect’ her from cruel comments.

She explained: ‘I’ve learned a lot this year and I realise I’m still learning and my eyes and ears are so open more than ever, but not by pointing fingers at anyone else but for me wanting to grow as a human being and learn more as well. 

‘And I think I went through a time growing up with my mum – the looks that she would get, the comments that she would get, and the same thing; “We told you that was going to happen?” 

‘You know, because she was with my dad and then when he left when I was young, that she is a white woman raising two black kids on a council estate and struggling. But I think what my mum did was try to protect us from it.’

Explaining how her family never discussed race when growing up, she continued: ‘So, it’s very much the elephant in the room, we didn’t know how to have a conversation about it. Me and my brother grew up not having that conversation about it, it wasn’t spoken about in school.

‘And so, I just still grew up with all this racism and everything around me but had no conversations.’

The beauty went on to share how when she was younger, she felt much confusion about who she was or where she belonged. 

‘I was that black kid that didn’t have a parent on the side’ she explained. ‘But even though my mum’s doing everything to make sure I get my football boots and like, I absolutely love her for it. 

‘I went from being in one environment to maybe coming back to the east end of London, and I wasn’t white enough to be over here and I wasn’t black enough sometimes to be here. 

‘So thinking about it all this year, I went through a whole thing of being confused, to be honest and asking myself questions. “Actually what am I? Actually where do I fit? What group of people do I gravitate to and why” And then only kind of learning this year. I’m just me.

‘I’m comfortable with who I am or not trying to fit in, but actually still using my voice more.’
