Russell Crowe will narrate a documentary series about Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
The 56-year-old actor has lent his rich and expressive voice to Great Barrier Reef: A Living Treasure, directed by award-winning cinematographer Richard Fitzpatrick.
A trailer for the documentary shows some of the thousands of species that live along reef, off the east coast of Australia, including turtles, sharks, exotic fish and whales.

The four-episode series, which was filmed over four years, will explore the complex ecosystem of the Great Barrier Reef.
‘It’s the largest natural feature on earth, and the only living thing seen from space,’ Russell says in the trailer.
‘Bold, beautiful and unique, the reef supports the greatest concentration of life found anywhere on the planet.’

Channel Nine secured the rights to broadcast the series, according to TV Blackbox. An airdate is yet to be announced.
It comes after Russell’s most recent film, Unhinged, received mixed reviews from critics.
It is not the first time the South Sydney Rabbitohs co-owner has lent his rich vocal prowess to a narrate a nature documentary.
