The Block’s Nicole Jacobs sells her $1.59m Melbourne home to the Channel Nine home renovation show

The Block’s Nicole Jacobs sells her $1.59m Melbourne home to the Channel Nine home renovation show -and convinces FOUR of her neighbours to do the same

The Block’s Nicole Jacobs has sold her $1.59million home in Melbourne‘s south-east to the Channel Nine show.

CoreLogics records show that Nicole has offloaded the suburban Bronte Court property to Nine Network’s Micjoy Pty Ltd, for a whopping $3.025million – which is double her buying price three years earlier.

According to realestate.com.au, the home renovation series’ professional buyer also managed to convince four other residents on the quiet Hampton cul-de-sac to sign ‘too-good-to-refuse’ deals to hand over their homes to the show.

While she had a significant impact in helping her neighbours sign multi-million dollar deals for their homes, Nicole has expressed that she did not make any commission on the four sales.

Speaking to the Herald Sun recently, Nicole revealed she was ‘flabbergasted’ after being approached ‘completely out of the blue’ to sell her Neil Clerehan-designed home.

She continued: ‘But then I knocked on some neighbours’ doors to see if others were keen to jump on board. Once I did that, I called back to say that it could work.’

However, the sales have left other residents on the cul-de-sac fuming with one claiming that producers for The Block had already spoken to them about ‘pulling Nicole’s house apart’.

Many have sent letters of concern to Bayside City Council about the ‘television crews and public traffic’ associated with The Block choosing to film its next season there.

This isn’t anything new, of course, as previous seasons of The Block have been met with local resistance.

Meanwhile, producer Julian Cress recently confirmed that the Hampton homes would feature in the 2021 season of The Block.

He told 9Entertainment: ‘We’re really excited about next year because we have found a property that actually meets that brief that we’ve set ourselves.

‘It’s something that we’ve never done before, and we’re very excited about it.’
