Dance Mom alum Kalani Hilliker gets slammed by Twitter after endorsing Donald Trump on election day

Former Dance Moms star Kalani Hilliker revealed on Tuesday that she’s supporting President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

The reality star tweeted out her endorsement for Trump on election day, along with a call for Americans to ‘come together’ regardless of whoever emerges as the winner in upcoming days.

But the 20-year-old dancer’s political post drew waves of criticism from other social media users.

Furious fans: Kalani Hilliker, 20, revealed she was endorsing President Donald Trump in the 2020 election on Tuesday, which angered fans on social media; shown in West Hollywood on October 17

Kalani’s endorsement tweet initially seemed non-partisan, though she tucked her endorsement away in the final hashtag.

‘No matter who you’re voting for use your voice and vote!!! It’s your right!!!,’ she wrote, but she added, ‘#Trump202020 [sic].’

She followed it up shortly thereafter by quoting a since-deleted tweet and urging unity among Americans.

‘Yes at the end of the day we all need to come together as Americans no matter who wins,’ she wrote.

Kalani reiterated a similar sentiment on her Instagram Stories on Monday.

‘America is the greatest country because everyone has the freedom to express their own opinions so no matter what happens this week we need to all come together as americans and respect one another,’ she wrote.

The reality star was more unabashedly political in a follow-up post, which featured a short clip from a Trump rally with the president on stage, though it wasn’t clear if Kalani had been the one recording the clip.

On Twitter, users began to lambaste Kalani for supporting Trump, with many of them poking fun at what they painted as her lackluster performance on Dance Moms, which she appeared on from 2014 to 2017.

‘EVERYONE SAY IT WITH ME, MADDIE DESERVED ALL THE SOLOS,’ wrote one person, referencing Kalani’s costar Maddie Ziegler.

Maddie hasn’t publicly endorsed a candidate for the 2020 election, but she did interview Joe Biden’s granddaughter Finnegan Biden on Instagram.

‘This is why Nia beat you at nationals,’ another user tweeted, referring to Nia Sioux.

Another person was more flippant in their response: ‘block me this is embarrassing.’

Some people in her replies confined their criticisms to Donald Trump rather than her performance years earlier.

‘She don’t wanna respect herself having rights either,’ one person tweeted with a short clip of Ariana Grande performing.

Another Twitter user wondered, ‘How are we supposed to come together when trump supporters are gonna hate crime us?’

One fan wrote, ‘there’s no coming together if your candidate is segregating people miss privilege.’
