Falmouth seagull shows off football skills

It’s a sea-goal! Bird shows off its surprising footie skills as it dribbles a ball around a seaside boat park

  • Hypnotherapist Michael Holt was at Windjammer Cafe in the port of Falmouth
  • Noticed a seagull taking an interest in a small ball it found in a car park
  • The bird then shows off its effortlessly dribbling skills and ball control

A seagull has been spotted showing off its football skills to the delight of unwitting spectators.

Michael Holt had been enjoying his afternoon at the Windjammer Cafe in the port of Falmouth, Cornwall, when he noticed the bird behaving oddly in the car park below.

Video captured by the qualified hypnotherapist shows the seagull nudging a beaten-up ball around near the town’s harbour.

After sizing up the ball, the young gull is seen effortlessly dribbling with it down the car park as well as practising its ball control.

Michael, sat with partner Belinda, provides a running commentary and says, in a thick Yorkshire accent, ‘if he carries on like that he could end up playing for Leeds’.

Belinda jokingly replies that the club needs to get someone to Cornwall to sign him up.

The gull does struggle with its placement of the ball however, and twice almost loses it under a stack of canoes.

Eventually the bird gets bored and leaves the ball in the middle of the road, with Michael joking that it had set up a ‘penalty shoot out’.

It is believed the gull had stolen the beat up tennis ball from a local cockerpoo.

Cornwall has produced several talented players over the year, including the likes of Nigel Martyn, Matthew Etherington and current Plymouth Argyle hotshot Luke Jephcott.
