EXCLUSIVE: Australian theatre star Johnny Balbuziente is set to appear on Married At First Sight 2021

The eighth season of Married At First Sight is currently being filmed in Sydney.

And Daily Mail Australia can reveal that a professional actor is set to shake things up on the controversial social experiment.

Having previously performed in shows including George’s Marvellous Medicine and Fantastic Mr Fox, it’s no secret that Johnny is already a showbusiness veteran.

Johnny has filmed his MAFS wedding and was spotted in Sydney on Friday filming a romantic date with his yet-to-be-identified bride.

His Instagram account is now private, which is a requirement for all participants.

It appears Married At First Sight will not be Johnny’s first time walking down the aisle.

He married fellow theatre star Andrea Andrea in May 2019, and their wedding photos are still featured on the bridal website chicandstylishweddings.com.

The couple are believed to have called it quits less than a year into their marriage.

Other confirmed MAFS grooms include Melbourne-based luxury car dealer James Susler and Brisbane native Jason Engler.

Last month, Daily Mail Australia revealed that former police officer-turned-Pilates instructor Connie ‘Coco’ Stedman would be joining the cast.

She joins singer Booka Nile, from Perth deathcore band Make Them Suffer, on the forthcoming season.

The first confirmed cast members were Bryce Ruthven and Jake Edwards.

They added that the 2021 series was ‘about finding love, not fame’.
