Jenny Powell, 52, often mistaken as 19-year-old daughter’s SISTER

‘Every year I get a bit younger’: Jenny Powell, 52, admits she is often mistaken for her daughter’s SISTER despite 33-year age difference

Jenny Powell has admitted she is often mistaken for being her teenage daughter’s sister, despite their 33-year age difference.

The TV presenter, 52, is mother to Connie, 19, and told how she became known as a ‘hot mum’ among some of her daughter’s former schoolmates.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, she said: ‘I do get called Benjamin Button — every year I get a bit younger. Being called your daughter’s sister is very flattering.

Family: Jenny Powell, 52, has admitted she is often mistaken for being her teenage daughter’s sister, despite their 33-year age difference

‘We once checked into a hotel on holiday and the guy behind the reception desk said, “Oh, look at you two sisters. You look so alike”. Connie said, “She’s my mum”. I think she loves it but hates it as well. When she was in the sixth form it was going round the boys that “Jenny Powell is a hot mum”.’

The Wheel of Fortune host, who is also mother to Pollyanna, 11, opened up about the moment she found out her ex-husband Toby Baxendale had an affair with recruitment consultant Suzanne Galloway while she was pregnant with Polly.

The fling resulted in their marriage coming to and after just three years with Jenny telling herself at the time to not let it make her ‘bitter’.

She said: ‘All that happens is you get so chewed up, and it’s so exhausting, it can make you ill. I don’t want my kids to think, “My mum was so bitter about my dad”. It’s all good with Toby now. We flip-flop with the girls now and it’s actually quite a relaxed arrangement.’

Jenny is now dating sports therapist Martin Lowe who she met around Christmas 2010 while getting a coffee in Pret A Manger at London’s Euston Station.

Martin, who is seven years younger than his fiancée, proposed to the TV star in 2014 with Jenny admitting she doesn’t know what has stopped them from getting married yet.

The Daybreak host joked that Connie, who was eight or nine when her mother met Martin, told her she was a cougar.

However, Jenny insisted she looked up the definition of cougar online and found that the age gap between them is not large enough for the moniker to apply to her.

Jenny worked with John Leslie on Wheel of Fortune who was found not guilty by a jury for alleged sexual assault last month.

Jenny said nothing ‘untoward’ happened with him and they enjoyed a great friendship while working together.

The beauty recalled some of her famous relationships, including flings with singers Matt Goss and Take That’s Jason Orange.

Jenny said she dated Matt during the height of his fame with Bros and would sometimes get smuggled to his hotel rooms through the service lifts.

The TV star, who was around 18 or 19 at the time, said the relationship came to an end when his management got involved.

Recalling her romance with Jason, Jenny insisted she wasn’t deliberately trying to date boyband members but would often only meet people through her TV work as it didn’t leave her with much time for a social life.

That relationship wasn’t smooth sailing either as Jenny told how Take That fans would sometimes leave lit cigarettes in her letter box while they were dating.
