Millie Mackintosh candidly discusses slimming down after giving birth

Millie Mackintosh shared a candid post about slimming down after giving birth to her daughter Sienna six months ago.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 31, looked stunning in a monochrome crop top and leggings as she took to Instagram on Friday to share a video of herself skipping at home, as she got in a workout during her busy day.

Discussing her fitness regime and diet, Millie admitted that she has been working hard at slimming down and it hasn’t ‘just fallen off’.

Posing in her gym gear after having finished a gruelling workout, Millie wrote: ‘Lots of you have been asking me about my diet/work out routine.

‘It is pretty simple, I set myself the task of moving more and eating better, I want to be honest the weight has not just fallen off!

‘I am having to work at it every day and sometimes I really don’t feel like it but I am seeing results now and that is inspiring me to keep going.’

In her workout video, Millie was seen working up a sweat as she jumped up and down while using a skipping rope in her dining room. This comes as Millie proudly shared a milestone in her postpartum health, revealing she fits back into her favourite pair of jeans.

Sharing a photo of herself posing in her denims, the ex Made In Chelsea star told her Instagram followers it felt ‘like a win’ six months after giving birth.

The photo showed the new mum looking confident as she snapped a selfie in her bedroom, captioning the photo:

‘First time back in a pair of my favourite pre pregnancy jeans! It took a while to get them on and sitting down is challenging but it still feels like a win #postpartumbody #6monthspostpartum.’

Millie gave birth to her first child, Sienna, with fellow Made in Chelsea alum Hugo Taylor, 34, back in May.

And on Saturday last week, the star reflected on her relationship to her body post-pregnancy, in a beautifully written ‘love letter’ that was candid about her body confidence issues.

The reality star described ‘damaging’ her strawberry blonde hair to such a degree that it took ‘ten years’ to get it back to its original colour.

While she also admitted to planning a boob job and even ‘abusing’ her stomach in her younger years.

Of her skin, she wrote: ‘Starting in my early teens, and reappearing recently as adult acne, my breakouts have the power to reduce me to tears and destroy my body confidence.’

Of her boobs, Millie penned: ‘I stuffed my bras with cotton wool and often wore two for maximum effect.

‘I always felt you were a bit small and I planned to do something about you at some point.

‘Then, when I was pregnant you amazed me by doubling in size and then a lot more after Sienna was born and my milk came in.

‘You fed my baby for the first four months of her life and for that I will always be grateful. Now you’ve deflated and after being so stretched, you look a little sad and saggy.

‘How I miss you being being perfect and perky. How did I not see it? I wish I appreciated you more before.’

She added about her stomach:  ‘You are where I gain weight most easily and the hardest place to lose it.

‘Now that you’ve grown and carried my daughter in you, I have a new found respect for you.

‘I admit I find it hard sometimes to love your new softness and jiggle that is inevitable after having a baby, but I feel more connected to you as you grew a life inside you, so it’s ok if you never look the same, you have a story to tell now.’

She said that she has ‘always thought’ her bum was one of her best features, but says she would prefer if it were ‘without scars’ and wasn’t ‘dimpled with cellulite’.

Millie wrote that she used to hate her legs as she was bullied at school with the moniker ‘sparrow legs’ – but now she deems them to be her ‘favourite’ feature.

She elegantly concluded: ‘Our bodies are rooting for us all the time, constantly working to keep us alive, strong and thriving.

‘Even if the mind decides it doesn’t love what it sees in the mirror, the body will always love us back again.’

Pregnancy, she added, had led her to have a ‘new found respect’ for her body.
