Eva Longoria sings up for comedy Unplugging replacing Isla Fisher in the big screen role filming in Oklahoma

She found fame on ABC’s Desperate Housewives that ran from 2004 to 2012.

And Eva Longoria has just signed on to star in the big screen comedy Unplugging.

The actress, 45, is replacing Isla Fisher who was originally set to star in the movie opposite Matt Walsh.

Walsh, best known for his role as Mike McLintock in HBO’s Veep, co-wrote the screenplay for the film which is currently shooting in Oklahoma.

The story centers on a couple Dan and Jeanine, played by Walsh and Longoria, who head to a remote town for a ‘digital detox’ following the death of their friend. 

According to Deadline.com, their romantic getaway turns disastrous with unearthly encounters, strong edibles and bizarre locals. 

‘With no cell or Internet service, they’re lost, but end up reconnecting with each other along the way home,’ the outlet says.

Fisher had been announced as the lead in Cannes in May 2019

Meanwhile, Longoria has been stumping for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and urging her eight million Instagram followers to vote.

Last month, the actress and producer also launched digital platform She Se Puede.

It aims to ‘inspire, affirm, and inform Latinas so they can leverage their power to transform their lives, their families, their community and their nation.’
