On Friday fans saw Kush’s poker game take a dark turn after Ruby (Louisa Lytton) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) lured him into the club with the temptation of huge winnings from the game.

But following the game, he breaks down in tears as the full impact of the game sinks in, and was clearly conflicted  about whether to come clean to Stacey.

It remains to be seen whether Kush (Davood Ghadami) will admit to Stacey that he may have lost yet more money, piling more trouble onto their mounting financial woes.

On Friday, viewers saw Suki and Ruby join forces to lure Kush into a poker game, with the hope they can get the money they’re owed and run the Slaters out of Albert Square for good.

Ruby was furious when she learned that Kush had been stealing from the club’s till to fund his addiction, as he struggled to repay his debt to the Panesar family.

Approaching Suki, she suggested they team up to take Kush down, by tempting him into a poker game and bleeding him dry.

Despite a suspicious Kush turning down the offer, temptation got the better of him and he soon sat down to play with Vinny (Shiv Jalota) and Kheerat (Jaz Keol).

A concerned Martin decided to join in as well, with Stacey and Jean rushing to try and stop him when they discovered Suki and Ruby’s plot.

Kush’s battle with online gambling is likely to be setting the stage for his exit from the soap after six years on Albert Square.

Bosses confirmed last month that Kush will be leaving the soap in 2021, with a ‘huge plot’ planned for his departure.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Kush will be written out of the soap next year as his storyline reaches a natural close.’

Speaking about the exit, a TV insider told Metro.co.uk: ‘Bosses have a huge plot planned but although Davood was told in January, his departure it is not for a very long time yet in fact Kush will be on screen until well into 2021.’
