SAS Australia feud EXPLODES on radio: Firass Dirani is confronted by Merrick Watts

His bratty behaviour has made him one of the most divisive recruits on SAS Australia.

And on Friday, actor Firass Dirani was confronted about his actions by his co-star Merrick Watts live on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

The comedian called into the show and locked horns with Firass after the Underbelly star revealed on air how his rivals had tried to vote him off the show. 

Merrick, 46, called in when they were taking listener calls and said that Firass was part of a ‘classic radio stitch up’.

Radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson then asked Merrick if he ‘has beef’ with Firass, but the funnyman tried to play it cool.   

‘Why would I have a problem with Firass?’ Merrick said.  

Firass then said he didn’t ‘have a problem’ either, but thought that on the show Merrick targeted him and treated him like a child. 

‘I don’t have a problem with you Merrick, I just felt like I was a little singled out and  you were trying to baby me,’ Firass explained. 

Merrick hit back, calling Firass a ‘child.’

‘Yeah, because I’m a dad Firass and you’re a child, that’s why,’ Merrick said. 

Firass then said that Merrick would have a go at him every time he tried to light a fire on the show and that they had constant spats.   

On the call, the pair then tried to bury the hatchet. Merrick soon claimed that he ‘doesn’t hold grudges.’   

‘Firass, you know this, I don’t hold grudges… I had beef and then I moved on,’ Merrick said. 

Firass then said he was the same and that he’s ‘not blaming anyone.’

Before the awkward call, Firass slammed Merrick and some of his co-stars and claimed that they tried to ‘vote him out.’

He took a swipe at Merrick when he said that the radio star and comedian always tries to be the funniest person in a room, but fails miserably.  

‘He’s got this, I don’t know what kind of syndrome it is. It’s like no one else can be funny in the room, some kind of comedian thing,’ Firass claimed. 

‘I’ve heard of comedians hit and miss, but I’ve never seen one that [misses] miss, miss, miss, slip down and crash, burn.’

When asked about his feuds with Shannan Ponton and Merrick, Firass said he didn’t want to talk about them but went on to say there was ‘no love lost.’ 

‘I don’t want to talk about them but it’s all good, different generations, different generational curses or whatever. No love lost, but wouldn’t see eye to eye and I just think they had a construct in their head of who they think they wanted me to be,’ Firass said. 

‘When I rocked up and was fit, flamboyant and had something to say, it didn’t sit well with them.’  

He said everyone but Candice Warner wanted to vote him out on the show, after he helped her in a gruelling challenge.  

‘They actually go to Ant (Middleton, the show’s chief instructor) and they go ”we come to the conclusion we want number 11 out,” Firass said. 

The cast have become increasingly frustrated with Firass on the show, as his insubordination has resulted in group punishments.

Merrick pleaded for Firass to ‘stop gobbing off’ and start listening on Tuesday’s episode, to which the actor sarcastically retorted it wasn’t ‘his first barbecue’.

Merrick appeared on Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa on Wednesday and promised more spats with Firass. 

‘Yeah, 100 per cent, I’ve got another blow-up in there, don’t you worry about that!’ the funnyman joked about another scene with Firass to come. 

However, Merrick clarified that he did not consider Firass a bad person, he was just not necessarily the best team player.

‘To be honest if Firass rang me right now and said do you want to go get coffee, or have a beer tonight, I’d go have a beer with Firass… but put it this way, I wouldn’t want to be starting a recreational basketball team with him,’ he joked.

SAS co-star Jackson Warne added that while it was frustrating paying for Firass’ actions on the show, he considers him a ‘good bloke’.

‘Firass was helping me with my bag, my water bottle, he was a good bloke all around, but he couldn’t keep his mouth shut and he doesn’t like taking orders,’ Jackson said.

Earlier this week, Firass fired back at Shannan Ponton after the former Biggest Loser trainer labelled him a ‘sociopath’ following their appearance together on SAS Australia.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday, the 37-year-old actor branded Shannan a ‘redneck’, and took aim at his Maori tattoos.

‘I find it strange where this vile aggressive labelling behaviour is coming from? I suspect there’s more prejudice against me than I imagined,’ Firass said.

‘Feels like a redneck to me. Him and his followers. That’s called a line in the sand.’
