Reese Witherspoon follows safety protocols on The Morning Show set

Reese Witherspoon recently returned to work as Hollywood bounces back from the COVID-19 lockdown.

The Oscar winner was seen on the set of her Apple TV + series The Morning Show, which also stars Jennifer Aniston, on Thursday in downtown Los Angeles.

The star was not yet in makeup as she was seen with a face shield, though it was worn upside down.

The mother of three sported a quilted army green jacket with a floral blouse. The 44-year-old completed the ensemble with some slim jeans and a pair of black and white sneakers.

She looked at her script through a see-through face shield as she walked around the lot with a coffee under her arm.

Reese stars in The Morning Show as Bradley Jackson, a field reporter who gets tapped to join Alex Levy (Aniston) on one of the most respected daytime talk shows, after the previous co-host (Steve Carell) was fired for sexual misconduct.

Deadline revealed earlier this month that the Emmy-winning series was preparing to get back to work on season two, before she tweeted: ‘And We are Bacccckkkkk!’

Although she has plenty on her plate as an actress and producer, Reese recently admitted that she’d be open to running for office.

After Jason Bateman told her she’d ‘get a lot of the vote’ on his podcast SmartLess, she responded: ‘Yeah, I mean our standards have become very low in this country.’

The Big Little Lies star added: ‘I wouldn’t say never, because I don’t know where I’m going to be when I’m, you know, 65.

‘I think we need better representation and balance. Women are 50 percent of the population, but we’re not 50 percent of the representation in government, which is bizarre, particularly when they’re adjudicating over our bodies.’

Reese previously appeared in a virtual reunion for the 2001 comedy, reuniting with her co-stars for a YouTube special, moderated by Saturday Night Live star Chloe Fineman.

She said: ‘I don’t think any of us knew what this film was going to turn out to be or how it would inspire young women and young people across the world.

‘I’ve traveled the entire world and always, always the movie that people stop me about is Legally Blonde.’

The reunion also featured virtual appearances from Luke Wilson, Jennifer Coolidge, Selma Blair, Holland Taylor, Alanna Ubach, Jessica Cauffiel, Ali Larter and Matthew Davis.

It was revealed back in June of 2018 that Reese is returning for a third installment, which was supposed to premiere this February.

MGM recently announced the new premiere date on Twitter: ‘Elle Woods is back! Legally Blonde 3 coming May 2022. We rest our case.’

It comes after Reese’s Wrinkle in Time co-star Mindy Kaling and Parks and Recreation writer Dan Goor signed on to write a new script for the film back in May.

Kaling teased what’s to come earlier this month on Good Morning America: ‘I was nervous because the movie is so iconic. But then I thought, “It’d be really fun to see that character in her 40s. What is Elle Woods dealing with as a 41-year-old woman?”

‘And it’s been really funny to write. And I’m working on it with my friend Dan, and I think it’s going to be a great movie for Reese and people are going to love to see her in this part.’
