Humiliated Shayna Jack cops verbal abuse from directing staff as she derails SAS Australia challenge

‘You’re a disgrace!’ Humiliated Shayna Jack cops verbal abuse from directing staff as she derails SAS Australia challenge… after champion swimmer famously failed a drug test ahead of the World Championship

She came under fire when she tested positive to Ligandrol in both her A and B samples in Cairns in July 2019, ahead of the FINA World Championships in South Korea.

And Shayna Jack, 21, faced further adversity as she copped verbal abuse by directing staff Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham on Monday’s episode of SAS Australia.

‘You’re a disgrace!’ the former soldier yelled at the humiliated swimmer after she failed to shoot at the ‘enemy’ during the ‘life or death’ challenge.

Realising her mistake, Shayna said: ‘I should have fired because he was putting my life in danger because he had his weapon on me.’

Mark vented: ‘You couldn’t make a decision! Too busy worrying about being out of breath. You know what you are? A f***ing liability to all the people behind you

‘That leaves it to me, or someone else, to go and tell your mum and dad that old numpty nuts got us all f***ing killed nearly – and unfortunately, she’s dead! How does that sound?’

When Shayna admitted that she felt ‘terrible’, Mark took no pity as he replied: ‘All you had to do was think, observe and deal with it. You’re a disgrace!’

Shayna was at the centre of doping allegations last year, after testing positive for the banned muscle-enhancing substance Ligandrol.

She has regularly protested her innocence and denied knowingly taking the drug.

‘It’s something that is so far-fetched from what I’d ever think would happen to me,’ Shayna told The Sunday Project last year.

In the interview with host Lisa Wilkinson, Shayna said she was told anything she came into contact with prior to the test could have contaminated her sample.

‘There was a case in the past called the “kiss cocaine case” where someone had taken cocaine and then the partner, who was an athlete, kissed that person and they were contaminated because they had contact with something someone else had taken,’ she added.

More recently, Shayna spoke to Stellar magazine earlier this month about the ‘draining and horrible’ process she went through during the scandal last year.

She said she still dreams of being able to swim in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, and will always stand up for what is right and ‘speak the truth’.

‘It has been a difficult and long process, but one thing has never changed for me from day one: I have never bought, possessed, been supplied with or used prohibited substances in any way,’ she told the publication.

Shayna is provisionally suspended, and has been for approximately 15 months. Her case is currently pending and her hearing has not yet taken place, but the exact date will not be released to the public.

SAS Australia continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Seven
