Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden drop $14.7m on a modern farmhouse with nearly 10k square feet

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden welcomed their first child at the start of the year. 

And the famous couple just snagged a nearly 10k square foot move-in ready home for their growing family in the Benedict Canyon area, north of Beverly Hills.

With seven bedroom, 10 bathroom, and a resort style pool the actress and Good Charlotte guitarist paid $14.7m for the modern farmhouse, Dirt shared on Friday. 

The home sits on 1.68 acres and is surrounded by lush trees and rolling hills.  

Windows and large doors in a black setting line every outer wall of the home, letting in plenty of natural light. 

A black paved road, ticked behind a black gate, leads a wide driveway with garages for at least three cars. 

The home is built with concrete as the main visible component on the outer walls and is used in large slab walkways.  

Both the concrete material and black standing seam metal roof appears to have been used to provide the home with resistance to wild fires as it is tucked in the hills of west Los Angeles.

The backyard of the home continues with all minimalist concrete walkways that are lined with outdoor lounge beds, a small seating area and an outdoor BBQ area.

One corner of the yard features a flat grassy area, while the other is filled with an in ground pool and hot tub.

The home features multiple seating areas with formal and informal gathering areas. 

Two sets of doors are set on either side of a stone-wrapped fireplace, leading inside to a living room just off the kitchen in the grand room of the house, with a second-floor walkway looking over into the room. 

High ceilings provide more walls space for large windows lettings light bounce off the white walls and light-wood flooring. 

One more informal area featured vaulted ceilings with white walls and white painted wood beams. 

A near floor-to-ceiling window gives views to the lush gardens and trees outside. 

Another room, also featured white painted vaulted wood ceilings, a gold framed fireplace, large windows and two couches and a set of chairs just in front of bright windows. 

Just off the grand room is a dining room, against set beside large french doors, and beneath vaulted white wood ceilings. 

A large wine room is built into the entire wall in the dining room opposite the doors leading outside. 

The formal dining room leads directly into the large and open concept kitchen.  

A large center island, with light grey cabinets and white marble counters takes center stage in the center of the room, with a gold plated sink and room for three barstools on a dining side. 

The fridge is seamlessly built into the kitchen, matching the light grey cabinets, with black metal hardware. 

Two large round lights hang over the island as recessed lighting covers the rest of the room. 

Another set of doors sits on the right wall of the kitchen, with access to a second private yard area.  

A kitchen table sits just to the left of the island beside more doors leading to the backyard.  

Set down a long hallway is a laundry room, with two washers and two dryers, tucked in built in cabinets. 

A theater room, that could double as an eighth bedroom, is just beside the laundry room, with a full sized closet and bathroom, and is set-up for TV viewing with padded walls and a dark design. 

Two bedrooms fill out the bottom level each with a bathroom and large closet. 

A grand staircase and a smaller set of stairs both lead to opposite sides of the second level, though the connect with a long hallway. 

Up the larger, open staircase, an incredible master suite is the first room, and featured large windows, a built-in marble framed fire place and built in storage. 

French doors open with a faux patio, overlooking the lush grounds.

Two walkways lead from the sleeping area into the luxurious bathroom, with his and hers everything. 

A free-standing soaking tub sits beside a natural colored tile wall, that houses the marble walk-in shower with dual shower heads on the other side. 

Sinks, with large counter tops and storage, sit on opposite sides of the bathroom for his and hers use. 

Each side of the bathroom also has a separate toilet area. 

One side, leads into a pass-thru room, that was staged with a desk, before heading into the large built-in wood closet, with a center island for jewelry and accessories. 

While the other side also features a pass-thru area used as a seating area, and leads to a smaller but still substantial walk-in closet with wood built-ins. 

Four more rooms fill-out the upstairs, each with their own bathroom and large walk-in closet. 

A lofted seating area connects both wings of the house with a long hallway. 

The compound-style home also featured a guest house, that could double as a home office, and featured a small kitchen with sink, microwave, electric range stove-top and eating nook.
