This Morning fans THANK Alison Hammond for fashion segment with Love Island hunks in their pants

This Morning’s Alison Hammond was thanked by viewers as she organised a men’s fashion segment with a plethora of Love Island hunks in their pants.

The fun-loving presenter, 45, took charge of Friday’s ITV show as the guest editor, and with the power in her hands, she planned her ideal fashion segment featuring a horde of hunky stars modelling underwear.

Fans appeared to be loving the segment as some called the star their ‘hero’, though not everyone agreed as there were some who called out the show’s ‘double standards’.

The final This Morning installment of the week saw a significant change as Alison not only took over presenting duties alongside Dermot O’Leary, 47, but also acted as editor too.

And Alison ensured she had things her own way as the men’s fashion segment, presented by stylist Gok Wan, saw Love Island guys Jack Fowler, Michael Griffiths, Danny Williams and Chris Taylor strip down to their underwear.

While Gok chatted about different styles of underwear, Alison and many of the viewers found themselves distracted by the lads’ ripped torsos, with the person behind the camera even zooming in for a closer look.

Taking to Twitter, viewers were quick to thank Alison for perching up their Friday afternoon.

‘Alison is my new hero for getting Jack Fowler in a pair of pants on’ commented one viewer.

While another remarked: ‘Found the mens underwear segment so funny. The separator pants though, what on earth? Fab choice of models though, made Friday a lot better for me.’

Divided: Fans appeared to be loving the segment as some called the star their 'hero', though not everyone agreed as there were some who called out the show's 'double standards'

A third commented: ‘I think we need @AlisonHammond to edit #ThisMorning on a permanent basis if this fashion segment is anything to go by’.

‘Thank you @AlisonHammond for this very helpful and informative fashion segment’, tweeted a fourth.

‘Oh now this is the men’s fashion segment we need. Cheers @AlisonHammond’ said a fifth.

With another adding: ‘Thank you @AlisonHammond. Thank you.’

However, the light-hearted segment divided some viewers as they called out ‘double standards’, arguing this would not be accepted if it was women parading in their underwear.

‘ThisMorning objectifying the love island men in boxers. Quick £2,000 for a 30 second appearance. I look forward to see the women in lingerie to balance out the #everdaysexism’ commented one viewer.

Hunks in their trunks: Love Island's Jack Fowler and Michael Griffiths were very obliging when it came to Alison's fashion segment - much to the delight of fans

Eye-catching: Michael made quite the impression in his tight white trunks

A second person agreed, writing: ‘This would not be allowed with women’s underwear. Can we stop with the double standards?’

‘I know this is meant to be light-hearted but they wouldn’t get away with this approach if it was women’s underwear. Why is it still considered acceptable to ogle men on TV?’ said a third.

With a fourth watcher echoing: ‘If its not OK for a male presenter to request an item to be on women in underwear for personal gratification, its not ok for a female presenter. I’m horrified.’

It comes as ITV continued its efforts to promote diversity in its programming by making Alison the first ever black guest editor of This Morning.

The former Big Brother star decided to use her role to start the show with a Hammond ‘takeover’, redecorating the set with cushions of her face, and dressing the crew in ‘Team Alison’ T-shirts.

‘This is my moment, today I’m taking over the show in front, and behind the camera. I’m guest editor, let’s do this,’ Alison said in a punchy intro that saw her confidently walk into the This Morning

Not impressed: However, the light-hearted segment divided some viewers as they called out 'double standards', arguing this would not be accepted if it was women parading in their underwear

The funny clip saw the presenter taking over all aspects of the show, jokingly bossing the crew around.

She was eventually joined by exasperated co-host Dermott, who jokingly asked: ‘who signed off on this?!’

This Morning continues weekdays from 10am on ITV.
