Jamie Foxx returns to Netflix for vampire comedy Day Shift from the producers of John Wick and Get Out
Following his successful collaboration with Netflix on their hit action-thriller Project Power, Jamie Foxx is returning to the streaming service.
The 52-year-old actor has come aboard to star in and executive produce a new vampire comedy entitled Day Shift, according to Variety.
The project comes from a pair of high-powered producers – Chad Stahelski (John Wick) and Shaun Reddick (Get Out).

Back to Netflix: Following his successful collaboration with Netflix on their hit action-thriller Project Power, Jamie Foxx is returning to the streaming service
The story follows Foxx’s character, a blue-collar working class father to an eight-year-old daughter who owns a pool cleaning company in the San Fernando Valley.
However, what nobody else knows is that his pool cleaning company is actually a front for his real profession – hunting and killing vampires.
JJ Perry will make his directorial debut with the project, working from a script written by Tyler Tice, with the recent revisions by Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum).

Yates is producing alongside his wife Yvette Yates Reddick, who both discovered the script when it won the 2017 Slamdance Writing Competition Grand Prize.
They then attached Perry to direct the film, with Jason Spitz also producing for 87Eleven Entertainment, the company Stahelski co-founded with his John Wick co-director David Leitch (Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2).
Foxx is also attached as an executive producer, alongside Datari Turner and Peter Baxter.

‘I’ve known and worked with JJ for a long time. His unique vision of Day Shift makes it such a great first directorial project for him,’ Stahelski said in a statement.
There is no indication when production will begin on Day Shift, or when Netflix may be looking to release it.
The news comes just hours after Netflix announced that Foxx’s hit movie Project Power, which debuted on the streaming service in mid-August, has been watched 75 million times in its first four weeks of release.

Foxx made headlines earlier this month when it was revealed he will be returning as Electro, the villain from 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man, in Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man 3 with Tom Holland.
He also voiced jazz musician Joe in Disney Pixar’s highly-anticipated animated film Soul, which will debut on the Disney Plus streaming service on Christmas Day.
The actor will also star in and make his directorial debut in All-Star Weekend, alongside Robert Downey Jr., Gerard Butler and Benicio del Toro.
