Kelly Rowland sensationally accused fellow judge Guy Sebastian of cheating during this year’s season of The Voice.
And on Wednesday, the 38-year-old Australian singer broke his silence on the matter, revealing what really went down on behind-the-scenes.
Appearing on 97.3FM’s Robin, Terry & Bob, Guy explained that the incident was actually ‘quite orchestrated’ by the producers.

‘I supposedly cheated on the show by pushing my button and getting an extra member on my team, and the truth bomb is, a lot of that was quite orchestrated,’ he said.
‘The other coaches didn’t know… but for a bit of drama cause we were dealing with COVID and everything else I got it, I understood I had to be a sacrificial lamb and be called a cheat among other things, but it was all staged.’
He then confirmed that the producers had told him to do it, but admitted that he ‘sold it’.

The scandal occurred when the group Wolf Winters took to the stage to perform a dark rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s The Sound of Silence.
Following the performance, Guy, whose team was already full, turned his chair, and a showdown ensued between him and Kelly, who still had a spot to fill.
‘Wait, you can’t do that!’ Kelly cried out, prompting fellow coach Boy George to say: ‘You’re full. You can’t have this man anyway.’

Guy then tried to encourage Kelly to recruit Wolf, to which she replied: ‘I’m looking for something specific. How’re you going to tell me what to look for my team?’
She then complained: ‘You’re cheating. You are cheating!’ At that moment, a producer stepped in to break up the fracas.
‘The problem we have is that unless we get Kelly to take him, we potentially have to tell him that he’s not through anymore,’ the producer explained.
It was eventually decided that Guy could have Wolf despite already having a full team, but would lose two of his singers in the battle rounds.
