GMB’s Laura Tobin tells Ranvir Singh and Kate Garraway off for talking through her weather report

Good Morning Britain got off to a slightly awkward start on Wednesday as weather presenter Laura Tobin was forced to tell Ranvir Singh and Kate Garraway off for talking through her weather report.

The meteorologist, 39, was presenting her usual weather bulletin, but suddenly stopped proceedings as she noticed Ranvir, 43, and Kate, 53, gossiping.

Turning to the anchors, Laura addressed Ranvir as she urged them to be quiet, saying: ‘Ranvir, pipe down!’

Whoops! Good Morning Britain got off to a slightly awkward start on Wednesday as weather presenter Laura Tobin was forced to tell Ranvir Singh and Kate Garraway off for talking through her weather report

She added: ‘We’re on the weather… she doesn’t care, she’s not even listening, giggling and talking!’

Ranvir and Kate were quick to apologise, with Ranvir adding: ‘We were laughing, giggling, we are concentrating right now.’

While Laura shared: ‘They’re basically gossiping about Strictly, which is all we did in the make-up room.’

Laura then continued with the weather forecast, as a sheepish Kate said afterwards: ‘We got a little bit told off then’, while Ranvir added: ‘Berated!’

With Laura then quipping: ‘You still weren’t listening were you?’

Trying to make light of the situation, a cheeky Kate asked her co-star: ‘What’s happening with the weather again, Laura?

Meanwhile, Andi Peters, 50, couldn’t help but in as he later teased the trio during his competition segment.

Speaking to someone off-screen, he relayed the scenario, with Ranvir shouting: ‘Stop it Andi!’

But the mischievous TV star was quick to add another witty remark as he said: ‘Pipe down Ranvir, best quote ever by the way, pipe down.

‘All right mistress, just because you’re a trained meteorologist. I didn’t actually need to listen to the weather as I am standing in the rain!’

The drama in the studio comes after Strictly Come Dancing star Ranvir revealed she had a ’20 minute divorce’ from professional dancer Giovanni Pernice while training for Saturday’s live show.

To which the political editor replied: ‘Well, we had a quiet moment when we needed time to ourselves.’

‘He pointed to his arm, which says ‘never give up’ and says “that’s just who I am”.’

Giving his take on things, Giovanni said: ‘You have never done anything like this before. To listen to someone repeat things for hours, telling you what to do, that is uncomfortable.

‘That’s my job to tell you what to do. We got better and we achieved what we wanted to achieve.

‘Never give up until you achieve what you want.’

Ranvir is set to join her 11 fellow contestant when they take to the dance floor for the first live show on Saturday.

It comes after the pre-recorded launch show at the weekend, which saw the celebrities paired up with their pro partners.
