The Grown-ish star was dressed casually in a t-shirt and jeans, with the bottoms of the denims rolled up above her ankles.

She stepped out in white trainers and carried her phone and a bottled drink.

She also wore a colorful cloth face mask as required in public places in California due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Shahidi got her big break when she was cast as Zoey on the ABC sitcom Black-ish in 2014.

In 2018, she was given her own spin-off series Grown-ish.

Meanwhile, she will join two-time Oscar nominee Jude Law as Captain Hook and Milla Jovovich’s daughter Ever Anderson as Wendy in Peter Pan.

It’s not yet known when the movie will begin principal photography.

Last month, Shahidi spoke about the importance of representation on television at the 2020 virtual Emmy Awards.

‘The stories we tell on TV shape how we see ourselves in others, and how we are seen can many times determine how we are treated,’ she said during the virtual ceremony.

‘The dream of television is the freedom to live our full and nuanced lives outside of boxes and assumptions. We continue to strive for a more complete definition of inclusivity,’ she added.
