The Big Cat Rescue CEO went on to marry Howard Baskin in 2004, and he was also featured in Tiger King.

The interview turned to her foe Joe Exotic, who famously married multiple men at the same time in the Netflix series Tiger King.

‘It’s not a matter of what your sexual preferences are,’ she said of Joe who was convicted of attempting to murder Carole with a hit man.

‘This man is just a deviant in the way that he treats human life and animal life and that it’s all about him,’ Carole added. ‘It doesn’t have anything to do with the communities he may associate himself with.’

In the interview, Carole also said that her work to save big cats, and the attempt on her life by Joe Exotic has made her anxious when meeting strangers in person.

‘I’ve always been a little anxious when people approach me in public because I don’t know if they’re friend or foe,’ she said. ‘Joe was just one of these people who wanted to see me dead.’
