SAS Australia: Fans left distraught as Schapelle Corby quits the show

‘I was only watching for her!’ SAS Australia fans are left distraught as Schapelle Corby emotionally QUITS the show just two days in

She quit SAS Australia on Tuesday, after being unable to run a series of laps as part of a punishment.

And Schapelle Corby’s dramatic exit has left a sea of viewers completely devastated, praising the 43-year-old as a ‘winner’ before claiming they were only watching the Channel Seven series ‘for her’.

‘Schapelle gone from SAS Australia in just the second episode. What’s the point in even airing the rest of the season?’ one fan fumed online.

‘Ugh lame, NGL was only watching for Schapelle,’ a second added, while a third wrote: ‘Sorry to see Schapelle go. Never thought I’d say that.’

Others claimed they thought she could have gone the whole way, with one viewer chiming in: ‘@RealSchapelleC sucks to see you go! We thought you were going to be the winner.’

‘I was team Schappelle Corby in #SASAustralia and shattered she’s left. If you disagree you are wrong,’ another added.

Schapelle was brought to tears as she made the decision to leave the challenge show in the emotion-filled second episode.

Moments before she left, chief instructor Ant Middleton had singled out actor Firass Dirani, and referred to an incident earlier when the 37-year-old jeeringly said he’d hoped they’d be running.

Ant then directed the others to all run a series of sprints as punishment and ordered Firass to stand back and watch.

Breaking point: 'I've had enough. I can't run this far one second longer. I cannot,' she said, before breaking down in tears

But Schapelle struggled to keep up during the punishing exercise, turning in her armband and consequently quitting the show.

As the other recruits continued to run, a defeated Schapelle slowed to a walk as she made her way back to the DS (directing staff).

‘I feel like I have good mind control, but on an endurance level, I don’t think I’ve been pushed that far,’ she admitted.

Approaching the DS, a resolute Schapelle informed them that her ‘time has come’, before ripping off her armband.

Speaking about her short-lived experience on the show, Schapelle said it had taught her to trust people again, after a nine-year stint in a Balinese prison following her drug trafficking conviction back in 2005.

‘This is the reason I came to join this, to open doors for myself and to start to live in society better than I have been. So it’s time to create a new life for myself,’ she added.

SAS Australia continues Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Seven
